No sarcasm, Bruce hit it right on the head -- the primary difference between amateur and USL level players is COMMITMENT. It is an admirable quality, but it doesn't seem to be enough to compel large numbers of amateur participants (or their fans) to go the extra mile, and pay a few extra bucks, to give USL a try.
I saw very few of my MASL comrades at Thunder games over the years, and LS has said the same of his MRSL buddies. I've always thought that CSC leagues could be a fruitful recruiting ground, but I think a lot of those folks like socializing in the city. It might be tricky to form any kind of partnership now, because NSC and CSC probably view each other as competitors as far as soccer leagues go.
