Found a little tibit with a mention of a Battery preseason match in Savannah on Mar 7.

Historically we have played other college matches as well (including a pretty heated match against Duke last year IIRC) as well as some against Charlotte and Wilmington. I wonder if we might get a preseason match against Carolina this year?

ON a side note, CofC is playing Real Salt Lake tomorrow (Sat) at 7pm out at Patriots Point. Might make it down their for that.

Here is a report from our man in the field:

They actually split the Battery into 3 different teams and they played 30 or 35 min games. No real standouts for the Battery. Nigel Marples, Tom Heinemann, Kevin Jackson , Yeniel Bermudez all played and did ok. I think I recognized the new Sengalese player from Cleveland but he did not stand out. The Brazilian they just signed was not there, neither was Johnny Wilson, Stephen Armstrong, or the kid who is on loan from Montreal .Hard to tell about talent levels to be honest vs a college team. Some players with decent individual skills but not sure how they’ll do vs. better competition that plays much faster than Coastal did.

Good intel, now we have some more names.

1. Is this the same Kevin "Jacko" Jackson we all know and love?
2. JW didn't stick with the Rapuds?
3. Is Armstrong coming back for sure?
4. Is Fuller in the mix?
5. Did Usiel appear?

JW I guess came back last week sometime.
I presonally would like to see Armstrong back, I think he can be the senior leader in teh locker room as well as on the field.
Fuller was at teh player trails "assessing" i guess is what you would call it. spoke to him briefly and he had had groin surgery and at that point wasnt sure if it was going to be successful. Im hoping he can be a figure on the field this season as I think most of our players from last year will stand out in this league.

Anyone plan on going to Patriots point tonight? Im going to head down there to see the match. Its a great day out and I feel the need to watch some footie!
