Thoughts- Zzzzzzzzzzzz Old time soccer. Soccer's equivilant to to dump & chase. Just boot the ball down field and run after it. Richmond looked very tired and more then a little bored. Still, Pascale made a couple out of his mind saves. We had 2 players (a midfielder and a forward playing defense because of injuries and international call ups. Both Yeisley and Vercollone played very solid games.. well done boys! Charlotte has to be very tired after their midweek trips for to El Paso 2 weeks ago, and then to San Antonio this past week for Open Cup duty (congrats to them on reaching the quarter finals by the way). I just miss the good old days when Charlotte had Swineheart, Coggins & Johnson and you knew that getting 3 points off of them would cost you a lot of effort and probably more then a little blood. Not that they were a dirty team, they just played hard for 90 minutes every single game... the last 2 seasons the Eagles haven't shown that at all, I really do miss it. Tonight, both teams kicked off the game looking like they'd both settle for 0-0 and be happy. Charlotte maybe had the better of the play marginally, but thats not saying much at all. It wasn't a pretty game.. Richmond scoring DEEEEEEEP into stoppage time helped things immensely, but I'm still shocked none of the players/coaches/referees didn't fall asleep in the middle of the match. But.. Richmond got the 3 points.. that's all that matters in the end.. right?
