Not a huge surprise that the casual fans were disappointed in the one game they watched.

We did lose the lead by letting in four goals (counting the one that was not counted), and we did play a very defensive and unimaginative style in the second half.

The beautiful game is an attacking game played with risk taking and imagination in the improvisations. That was not a beautiful game. Many of them are not.

But, as Landon Donovan said, we wanted to win. I would have also taken the win, anyway we could have done it.

The causal fan will always be confused in complicated sports that don't just involve power/size being displayed...

sorry to disagree but that was a great game...we played as well as we could possibly play for the 1st half and they played just as well in the 2nd half...and just for the record he's definitely not a casual fan...he's a hater...a very big difference

I agree it was a great game.

He only saw the second half... and it sounded like he wanted them to win and even understood the importance of the game. He expected more, and like many, was disappointed when they didn't pull it off after going ahead 2-0. We all wanted them to win, but they didn't. A hater would not have watched in the first place. He was a potential new fan.

This is why consistency is so important in our National Team play, you never know when our new casual fans are going to join in, at the peak of the rollercoaster in first half, or as in this case after they dropped back down again in the second half. frown
