There have been rumors in Puerto Rico about a Islanders W-League team for the 2008 season.
The Islanders women team is already set to play in the puertorican league for 2007.

The top two teams in the Western Conference will meet at the higher seed for the Conference Championship and berth to the W-League Championship tournament.

In the Central Conference, a pre-determined club will play host to the top two teams from each division with the top seed from each division playing the second-place club in the semifinals and the winners squaring off for the Conference Championship and berth to the W-League Championship tournament.

The Eastern Conference regular season champion will play host to the four-team conference championship tournament consisting of the host, the other regular season division champion and two First Round playoff winners. The First Round divisional match-ups, to be played midweek, will feature the third-place clubs visiting the second-place sides for a chance to advance to the conference tournament. The Conference Champion will advance to the W-League Championship tournament.

The W-League Championship tournament will consist of the league semifinals and the championship match at a site to be determined.
