So has anyone heard anything about any changes? What are the new teams, which teams left? The only new one I've seen so far is the Sky Blue in New Jersey. Also, I've heard that San Diego may not be back.

Didn't the League fold in 2005?

Leo, if you are talking about the Washington Freedom and the WUSA, the WUSA folded at the end of the 2003 season. The Freedom were the only club to stay alive, playing exhibitions and starting up a successful youth program.

In 2006, the Freedom became an associate member of the W-League, playing a handful of friendlies against W-League clubs. Supposedly, they were going to join the W-League fulltime in 2007, but oddly enough, there has been zero buzz about the Freedom. Their website has been silent about the USL, and noone has been mentioning the club lately.

Sky Blue will likely take the majority of the talent from the New Jersey Wildcats...could create a fun rivalry. The coaching staff and much of the front office from the Wildcats moved to Sky Blue, and I think that will be a big story for next season to see how New Jersey reacts to the changes and how well Sky Blue does in their inaugural season.

Out west it looks like yet another reorganization of the Seattle team.

They were the Sounders Women, then last year the Sounders Saints.

They were going to fold at last report but might have gained a reprieve from the people who ran them last year.

They will be taking a break from their google mail alerts to run the club in 07.
