Any word on when the PDL alignment/schedule is to be released? Everyone else is out--wondering what the hold-up is.

Not having paid close attention to PDL in years, I thought that is the way it always was because of the fluidity of the league.

I hope that Nashville is holding things up a little bit. Some of us are wishing that the Metros will play a full schedule in 2002 instead of a provisional one.

I'm guessing that the schedule will be out by the end of the week. I thought it might come out last week, but the released the W-League one instead. Although there are still a few teams that are working out where they will play this season.

Hopefully it will be coming out this week because the season its getting pretty close (May 4th)and teams need to prepare for pre-season and exhibition games.

I know PDL is "only an amateur league" and not in the same status as D3 or A-League, but I have to agree the long timing and no news at all about the start of the season looks bad.

Nashville, will be playing in the southeast division. That is the latest news I have.

I thought Nashville would play in the Mid-South Division along with Austin, Memphis, Louisiana, Dallas?

Has this changed?

That's the news I recieved today from the Kraze. Schedule should be avalible to the teams by the end of week is from what I heard as well.

I have seen the tentative schedule for 2002 (hee hee) and Nashville is in the Mid-South. I would imagine that the alignment and schedules will be released fairly soon.

I'm pretty sure that the all of the teams have their schedules and they are waiting for approval from the league to release them. I'm doing some volunteer work for the Chicago Eagles Select and have seen their schedule. But without being able to release the schedule, this reduces the time to sell tickets and sponsorship.

On a interesting side note, the Eagles are going to Brazil for pre-season training.

I believe I read on the Menace website that their first game is supposed to be on May 2nd.

Well, it looks like we're going have to waite another week for the league to release the schedule. It's friday afternoon and still no schedlue. I guess I was over optomistic that it would be out this week.

The PDL Exec committee is meeting this weekend during Umbro Select. I would anticipate a schedule Mon or Tue of next week post-Exec meetings.

Well its Thursday and no official schedule or divison alignment for PDL yet...

With the season just 2 1/2 months away (May 4th for most teams)we stll don't have anything..

I was wondering how long you would be able to keep it up. Although I found it interesting that Nashville was playing a game in Florida.

Yeah, struck me at first, even heard some noise that Nashville were going to be placed in the southeastern division, but it looks like they will probably make a road trip or two down here instead. Sort of like when Bradenton went to Lousiana and Texas (I believe) last season in 2 "inter-division" games.

From what I've been told other then "required" division games and playing a number of Open cups in May. A team can play any other teams that they want. If a east coast teams wants to go out west and play a couple of games that's ok, if they can schedule them The way I heard that scheduling is done, someone from every team is in a room with a calendar and they go to other teams to fill in dates. It's kind of like a free for all.

And that free-for-all must still be going on, since there is still no word.

I guess the question is will the schedule come out this week or we will have to wait another week?

PDL schedule is supposed to be released late this week. I know, we've heard that before.

I've been waiting on the finalized Metros schedule to put up on the website for a while now. I'm gettin' kinda antsy.

BTW, on the latest tentative schedule I have the Metros do have a trip to Florida that includes matches against Central Florida and Palm Beach. Of course that is probably a month old, so your mileage may vary. Check local listings for a theatre near you.

I know for sure the inaugural game for the new PDL team the Memphis Express is May 4th against the Metros.

I think this will be the beggining of a great rivalry between Memphis and Nashville to see who the best team in Tennessee is. Kinda like Vanderbilt against University of Memphis in college soccer. I remember every time we used to play each other bragging rights were at stake.

Also, given the fact that both teams will play in the same division makes it even better.

Works for me. With the self-relegation, we lost the budding rivalry with the Atlanta Silverbacks(although there was a plan are to play a friendly or two for the monkey cup). If the Memphis club can stick around there could be a nice Volunteer Derby in the making. Maybe even bring back a team in Chattanooga and make it more interesting.
