Carolina Dynamo 3
South Jersey Barons 2

Cocoa Expos 1
Central Florida Kraze 3

Boulder Rapids Reserve 1
Chicago Fire Reserves 0

Fresno Fuego 2
Orange County Blue Star 1

I believe this means Carolina takes on Central Florida and Fresno takes on Boulder.
It was announced that Central Florida Kraze will host, details to come.

The local paper (which usually only gives the Kraze a paragraph in the back) said that the Carolina/Kraze match was set for Saturday at 7pm.
Plus Steve Clamp (director of PDL) was at our game on Saturday and they announced that the Kraze would host. I would say that was a pretty sure thing.

The Dynamo players were told today that they were going to Florida. Where is the field?

Showalter Field in Winter Park, FL.
Nice setting, but the actual field could use some help. There are some sand patches on the field.

If the Carolina fans need any more info, let us know!

I take this back.
It looks like the Carolina/Kraze match will not be held at Showalter Field.
New location is forth coming. I'll post when I have it confirmed.

Also, the Boulder vs. Fresno game will be held somewhere other than Florida.

I am gonna start a little trash talk and say that the Dynamo are going to whoop up on Central Fla and then toy with either of the other two teams. The only team that had a chance was South Jersey, and they weren't even all that good. Jamal Shetiwi made the entire left side of Jersey look like U10 rec players on the game winner!!! We won the two games this weekend without the only player who made our all conference team. With that insult I feel sorry for Central Fla come Sat night around 7:30.

I said this once before and I believe that the facts will support the following. It is extremely difficult to travel in the playoffs and win at a strong host's stadium. Vox, El Paso looked lethargic most of the match against Cocoa. Before the match between Dallas and Central Florida, I talked to Ron Plute, the Dallas captain. He said that El Paso had to bus the entire way to Orlando. No wonder they did not look the team that most were expecting to show up and blow Cocoa off the field. Carolina is a strong team and hosted. Jersey had to travel to Greensboro and play two tough games. Who won the second game, the home team. Chicago and Boulder played at a neutral site and it looks like the hot Boulder goalie stole a victory for them. Fresno did beat the host team, but did not have a lengthy travel, staying within their own state. Central Florida is very strong and has the advantage of playing at home. Carolina is a very strong team as well, but must find a way to overcome their travel schedule and do what no other team has done, beat the Kraze at home.

Yeah, I heard about the bus trip. It all had something to do with flights to Orlando being completely booked for some parks you guys have down there that, for whatever reason, are extremely popular at this time of year. Imagineer that.

In case anyone doesn't think that UCF Soccer Field doesn't count as a home field for the Kraze, half of the Kraze play college soccer at UCF.

smile
Dynamo's going to get stuffed.

UCF is a DI school. How many of the Kraze are from that school?

I would say part of Mr. Clamp's presence in Orlando was to check out the field conditions and that is why the game might have been moved.

Usually by this time of the year, the 4 teams have made bids to host the championships but this year is different, maybe they want the final game at one of the two teams venues so they are narrowing it down????

No, actually Steve Clamp told me (personally) that the reason they had to move the match was because the Kraze couldn't get Showalter for next saturday. Either the city of Winter Park pulled a fast one or the Kraze never had it scheduled anyway...

See you Saturday!

Alright, I'll post here as soon as we know something. Maybe someone from Fresno or Boulder will post as well.
