Wheaton, IL – The Chicago Eagles Select have announced the promotion of Jason Acres to the position of Head Coach for the 2002 season in the Premier Development League. During the team's inaugural 2001 season, Acres was an assistant coach and director of Player Development for the Eagles Select. He also played in midfield and served as captain of the team.

"I am looking forward to coaching the Chicago Eagles Select team this summer. It is truly a privilege to work with such a fine organization," commented Acres.

The Chicago Eagles Select are part of MAI which also has 3 other teams in the United Soccer Leagues. These are the Charlotte Eagles / A-League, Charlotte Lady Eagles / W- League and Southern California Seahorses / PDL.

Acres are currently in the process of assembling the team for the upcoming season. He has coached collegiately at Judson College in Elgin, IL “NAIA”. Jason has trained many youth clubs in the Chicago area. Acres has completed the USSF “B” coaching course. In 1999, he received his Masters in Physical Education from Northern Illinois University, with a concentration in Coaching and Sports Management.

As a player, Acres has played and excelled at many levels of soccer in the US.

· 1999 – 2000 – Chicago Sockers / PDL / 2000 Champions / Team Captain
· 1997 – 1998 - Chicago Stingers / USL D3 / 1998 Champions
· 1995 – 1996 – Rockford Raptors / USL D3 / Team MVP both years.
· 1994 - Charlotte Eagles / USL D3
