The race for 2nd place in the MidSouth is down to 2 teams now via a Texas loss to Austin last night combined with a Memphis win over St. Louis.
Nashville and Memphis have one game each, at home, against the sputtering Louisiana Outlaws this weekend, first Nashville tonight then Memphis tomorrow. Memphis leads by 2 points. The worse thing that can happen is a win by Nashville and a tie by Memphis, in which case the tiebreaker rules will be used. We would have to wait for the final scores to know who would win the tiebreaker I believe.

I wish that were the case, but in a tie the nod would go to Memphis. The first tiebreaker is head-to-head points. In the three derby matches, Memphis has six points and Nashville has three. All Metros fans can hope for is that Louisiana pulls of that rarest of feats, a back-to-back road trip in which they lose the Saturday night match and win on Sunday afternoon.
At least Texas lost. The boys still have second place to play for, even if it's only for about twenty hours.

I agree that the chances are pretty much slim and none. The game will undoubtedly go in Memphis' favor and even the tie goes to them with the first tie breaker. However its so close now that it appears the second tie breaker (goal differential) will now be tied at 20 a piece for Memphis and Nashville.
So close but so far away. Turn around the Toros loss or the 1-0 Memphis loss and Nashville moves on. Just one or two goals in the right game would have done it. Guess I'm crying over spilt milk. Any way all the teams in contention in the Midsouth made it exciting.
Ricardo, you are right about the excitement. Last year it was a 2 horse race, down to the wire but it was for 1-2, so there was no doubt that both would be playoff bound. Last year both MidSouth teams lost in the playoffs, this year I don't see that happening.
At 4PM tomorrow, when Memphis wins, I am going to make some contacts and get tickets to the playoffs.
