During the USLD2 Championship telecast on FSC, expansion was mentioned, but never specified. The only new team I know of that will be coming is Bermuda. Has anyone heard of other teams?

There is still a rumour around the Montreal Impact that thay will put a D2 (or PDL) team either in Sherbrooke or Trois-Rivières (both are a one hour drive from Montreal). But we have'nt heard anything new about that for a while.

I still have a hard time believing that Bermuda will come in. they would have to SERIOUSLY subsidize travel costs for teams coming in. the whole reason why most teams are in D2 are travel costs. I think very soon we'll see USL go to a single table with 2 divisions and only a few teams traveling out west. More teams would need to be added out west to help this out.

You lost me. Isn't there already a single table with two divisions? Sounds like what already exists with the D1&D2.

That's what I was thinking, Yankiboy, about the single Divisions. The only thing snaggle can mean is combining the 1 and 2 Divisions, which will not work, because of the costs.
As far as the Montreal rumor, I think they would work out much better than Bermuda(if they enter D2 rather than PDL). With the way the Impact are going, they can afford it.
I just can't imagine the hounds making the trip down to Berumuda.

Bermuda would arrange to fly clubs into their stadium via NY or Maryland I believe. Bermuda will pick up the cost of the airfare through sponsorship(s).

Is this a guess or do you know this? I find it hard to believe that they can afford to pay for travel expenses for 9 teams when they have to worry about their own costs.

They don't have any choice if indeed Bermuda is part of D2 now like you stated in your first post

All I know, officially, is the league will be expanding.
