Why won't A-League teams take their Mascots to the Away games? I mean, it only seems fair that the Home teams get to know the opponents Mascots, too!

Since there are no cheerleaders on the bus, there should be a space for the Mascot. You Mascots need to stand-up for your rights and be counted!! Who knows, fans might even agree to a 25-cent hike in ticket prices to pay for the travel of their Mascot! What do you say for yourselves Mascots?

GO KICKEROO - the best of the rest!!!

Next chapter: Professional Cheerleaders at A-League games!!!

Kickeroo would get his tail kicked by Rex the Rhino. Amo would bite his tail.

I don't even what to know what Timber Jim would do to him. wink :p

(yawn). Been there, son. It's an old argument taht only gets me an Thor talking. Rex ain't here, so I ain't gonna smack-talk him.

Jim's a fine mate, s'long as someone makes sure he's hosed off once in a while.

Other than that. Thanks Plugger. I'm honored.

It's no fun if I can't get a rise out of you Kickeroo.

You know that I have nothing but respect for mascots.

Eh, it's OK. I've heard too many tales of English Football mascots getting into fights with each other, of the Chicken saying that nobody compres to him, of injuries suffered by the Seatlle Mariners Moose (I know him personally) or other stuff.

I'm good at what I do. My announcer claims me to be the craziest mascot in the A-league, and so far, nobody protests that claim.

I've heard from my faithful Corner Kicks as to who does what, or how good/lame they are. I ask them not to be biased, but honest on that part. But either way, they come back to say that in the grand scheme of things, i take the title.

Now, as for 'scots on the West Coast, I hear TJ has the best following, but I rarely hear of anyone else, including good 'ol Aquabird.

So if anyone reading this has anything additonal to sy, please say it. better yet, print this out, hand it to your team's charachter and ask them to stop by for a chat. i'd love to hear from them.

I will hold on to the title until then.

Well lets put it like this Kickeroo is for sure the best Mascot in Richmond. And from what I have seen in the A-league and MLS he is the best mascot in soccer(sorry Talon). If giving the chance at one of those "high paying" football or hoops team I believe he could do just as good if not better than those guys/gals. But then again we dont want to lose Kickeroo here in Richmond. The Kickers games just wouldnt be the same without his antics. I guess you could say I am biased. But hey when you have the best mascot in soccer you tend to be just a little. Keep up the good work Kickeroo.

I don't know Dave. The Gade was mighty good also, that is until his unfortunate ATV accident.

But I agree, Kickeroo Rules !!! I would love to see him in a mascot competition; I think he would excel over just about any of them.

Ummmm...sorry to dissapoint you guys but Timber Jim will kick the arse of any mascot around. Let's see...

1) He wears no fur, paws etc etc. His outfit consists of a pair of boots, carhart jeans, his personalized Timbers jersey and one hell of a big chainsaw.

2) When we score he takes off a slice of a four foot wide tree. And then places it on the back of our opponents goal.

3) When we are not scoring he takes to his 40 foot tree to wait it out till we do score.

4) To get everyone going he rapels from the rafters upside down with a giant drum probably about 30 feet off the ground.

Here are some pics:

Sorry for the late reply people... Been way way busy with public appearances...

Kickeroo, the best soccer mascot in the country, eh? With all due respect Big Dave, how many soccer mascots have you seen? hmmmmm... laugh

Not gonna hack on my buddy Kickeroo so not gonna talk smack there... And as for Timber Jim, well, two things....

One, Finnegan mentioned that he rapels from the rafters upside down with his drum every game... And Finnegan was kind enough to include a picture of him rapelling.

However, not only did I do the same thing (at high speed) every game my first season so its a "been there done that", but if that pic is of Timber Jim "upside down", he may want to research options on a makeover...

And two, I make it a personal policy not to make fun of, personally compete against, or compare myself to anyone who is eligible for AARP membership or gets his kicks out of sitting on wood... Sorry, its a personal policy...

I would like to travel to other game sights but coordinating the "mascot games" is very difficult with a heavy schedule so usually makes it impossible... Kickeroo, maybe next year we can plan out our respective mascot game days and attend... Let me know...

Well Thor since you challenged me...he he he ...I have seen many many mascots in action from the HS level (amatuers) to college football and hoops...to MLB and NFL. The definition of a great or best mascot varies from person to person. I`ll admit there is some bias to my statement. But Kickeroo is always on. This year alone he has endured 90 degree plus and 90% humidity at just about EVERY home game. He has fell through a wooden "stage", Had his tail ripped off,and just last week he performed in a constant downpour in which most fans ith and without raingear were miserable in. The point Im trying to make is no mater what the circumstances or conditions Kickeroo has NEVER failed to entertain when he is called upon to do so. This is not to slam any mascot im any way. I know its a tough job. But I feel we have the best mascot of any sport right here. Including the buzzard in Blacksburg. Sorry just a cheap shot at Virginia Tech.

You're a little modest about Seamore, you totally stole his thunder (no offense Thor) at the Sportsplex.

Sammy Sounder's pretty cool. He stuffed a Landon Donovan shot during halftime at the USOC match...I don't know if Kickeroo or Thor can claim to have gone up against a World Cup forward and gotten the save.

To be honest, I really don't give Sammy Sounder a whole lot of thought, cause I'm usually too busy watching the game to be concerned with the whale's antics.

Like I said, though, he's pretty cool. He poses for pictures with the kids, leads chants every once in a while, and occassionally when he goes by the Pod he'll grab the mallet and bang a few beats on the drum. I guess the best word to describe him would be "playful"...pretty much what you'd expect from an orca whale.

I don't know If I could stop a Donovan kick, but perhaps you might want to go to this site for an explanation of my goalkeeping talents. It's a true story:

How I spent this last past summer
