Instead of whipping out the "race card" & COWARDLY hiding behind it why doesn't His Excellency PresidentE Andres Guillemard, Yeivo, Yankiboy, Islander J, BUSCAPIE, YO & pr'rican answer 2 simple Yes or No Questions?

Based on M/1's well regarded reputation in this League EVERYONE on these Boards knows the answers to the above questions already - so I've WON MY BET - but the JERKS can't even muster up the guts to even answer the 2 questions...

And the Mariners were removed from one hotel by the police the day after the first game they played there in June and sent to another the morning of the second match. They then sat in the lobby for a long time waiting for rooms. Great hospitality in PR!

Mariner1 seems to have stirred a small hornet's nest.

I wonder why he saw fit to publicly embarrass Puerto Rico instead of seeking input from Tim Holt? On the other hand, I wonder if all teams who have visited Puerto Rico have been shown the same level of hospitality as (appears to have been) experienced by the Mariners, and if any of them have expressed their concerns to the League office? No one expects a "sauna", but is it unreasonable to expect a bed on which to sleep in a secure area? Maybe Puerto Rico needs to pay a little more attention to their host hotel situation.

And the implication that conflicts on these boards would be tied to anything race-related is ridiculous. The old race card was drawn pretty quickly.

I'd hate to think that Puerto Rico would provide sub-standard accommodations for visiting teams and then turn around and stiff the VB owner for breakfast on his home turf.

Regardless, there aren't many of us who have the facts. I, for one, would rather VB's and PR's instant rivalry had been created under different circumstances, but as one of my excellent teachers once said, "conflict is good", so you should all take it for what it's worth. Let the front offices straighten it out. Put it behind. This is just another one of those behind-the-scenes situations (actually this one is right up front) that come up on a regular basis that the League has to deal with.

I guess that ends my stream of consciousness for now.

pr'rican asks a good question Buck. Why are you attacking their fans? Chances are, they know as much about what happened as you, which is nothing, based on what you have written.

Everyone? I don't know the answer, as I wasn't there & haven't talked to anyone that was. I do tend to believe "M/1", but I don't know for sure that he is telling the truth 100%. I hope he is, as maybe it can restore a bit of the tons of respect that I lost for him once he decided to post what he did on these boards.
