socrfun-can you explain a little more on the 19yr old cause I am a little confused by this-unless I have really been out of the loop and I have the wrong 19yr old in mind.

Athletes are just that - athletes. They are not superhuman. They are
individuals with flaws just like anyone else. Granted, most flaws include
eating poorly or lying too often, not going and getting wasted all the time.(which is how you make them seem).
Some athletes are very stupid people, but they are still just people.
Not all athletes are role models. It is not part of their job description. Athletes
have every right to be upset when their lives are scrutinized and they
are criticized for not being good role models. There is absolutely no
correlation between people's athletic ability and how well they conduct
themselves outside the realm of sports. While they may have more
power and money than the average person, if they do get into trouble they will have to pay the price as any common person. These are smart guys and they know what they are doing.

You are correct m548620- I do not condemn the players for going out and enjoying a night on the town. My happy hour comment was to the front office. There are not to many business that employees don't go out after a hard day at work and relax. Shop talk they call it. We all have made mistakes , judged others, and continue to live in a world that we all know is no where near perfect. Made mistakes-you bet I have. Some I didn't consider mistakes but other people did. Blast players -hold it together and good luck this coming weekend.

Media 286 - Just look at last years roster and you'll see Paul Dolinsky, at that time a 19 year old. You'll find they let him go for diciplinary reasons. He got caught partying. He was caught up all season with these fine examples of pro's, but was the only one hung out to dry in the end. The organization nor the coach new how to deal with young players or older ones for that matter, which is definately a tragedy.

M548620 - What are you talking about? If your talking about Dolinsky you've got to be out of your mind. Even if not, these guys are role models wherever they go and must represent themselves in a professional manner and take care of themselves accordingly. Why do you think now in england they watch out for younsters like Rooney, so they learn what's appropriate and what isn't. Clubs now, MUST AND DO take the time to nuture young prospects so that they may one day be the best they can be. That's how they make money in eventual transfer fees.

Ya this this young man had his problems but what did the organization do to help? NOTHING.

Concerned Idiot-
If you were the coach, you could step in and have an opinion on this matter, but your not!

These boys are 21+ and as the german veteran said, sometimes a brew can take a load off.

There seems to be more than the boys having a few beers that made you mad....

If your a girl.....did they not talk to you and your lame friends.

If your a boy......did they steal the girls from you and your lame friends......

Come on'....Tell us because you know there is nothing wrong with what they have done.

Go be a concerned idiot somewhere else!

socrnfun, sounds like an upset parent to me. hey they didnt make this"19 yr. old" man go out with them. he is old enough to make his own decisions, or is he, dad. if not, he should not be in professional sports.

first of all, i would like to say that the problems facing the blast are not from lack of talent or from lack of players working as hard as they can. some of the players on the team had no problem winning national titles in college. the main reason the blast are winless in a league that is not hard to get a win is because the owners do not know what it takes to have a winning organization. It's obvious that jimmy know the game of soccer but does not know how to teach that to his players. no matter who the players are. the owners need to find somebody who can arrange the talent correctly. whether its a fixed formation or line-up that stays the same every week. from my understanding the players feel like they have no confidence in the staff because everything changes game to game. a professional staff would not allow that to happen. the players did not break any rules of the team or league. it just sounds like the owners dont know what to do about the miserable start to the season so the look to release players, instead of replacing a coach who has only won a coulpe games the last few years. get a staff that knows what they are doing and you will have a winning season. tha players have some of the best talent in the league. no rules were broken don't use that as an excuse. plus what was the person doing out from the head office that late. no one seems to have fired them.

socrfun- i do agree with you these guys are role models. i never said they weren't or didn't have to be. do i think some choose to be stupid and screw up yes. i am just commenting on what concerned fan had to say. my point of this entire matter is that i just don't this issued needed to be posted. BOTTOM LINE! i think it was meant to stir up more drama for the blast. as if they need anymore of that. not only are they lossing, and having problems with the team, now they have a so called fan that goes to the games to support them posting something that is only making the team look bad. like i said before if i were the blast i would be offended if CONCERNED FAN couldn't come to me personally to tell me if he or she had a problem with my behavior. i just think we need to support the blast right now because they need us. they are going through some **** and they don't need this. SO CONCERNED FAN IF YOU ARE GOING TO BE A FAN THEN BE ONE. DON'T FOLLOW THEM AROUND AND START RUMORS ABOUT THEM.

Rabbit you miss the whole point. Has nothing to do with being a dad or not. Has only to do with knowing what an organization needs to do for it's players and for players to know what's expected of them on and off the field. As Gforever and others say, I also believe it's fine to occassionally go out and let off some steam when appropriate. How often they do it and when they do it is actually no ones business but the players, coach and organization. But when performance (or in this case lack of performance) is affected and it comes out all should be held accountable and not just one naive young player. It isn't only CONCERNED that makes these sort of things common knowledge. Just read the British tabloids and you'll see how players get called out for their nightly activities, especially when the team isn't doing well.

Don't blame CONCERNED, because he didn't say anything that many close to soccer or the Blast already didn't know.

As for Dolinsky, I do know him and hope he has gained from his experience here. I understand he's in Pittsburgh, keeping his nose clean under Tim Carters guidance and learning what it takes to be a good pro. When you think about it, I guess the Blast did him a big favor.

It is yet another sad day for pro soccer in Indianapolis. The saddest thing is that there is a sheep trying to lead a pack of wolves. Jimmy just does not have the integrity to be a leader when he can barely manage himself. I mean just look at the poor bastard. Actually just make a trip to any watering hole in the greater Indy area and there you might find the so called "gaffer" tipping back a few pints. These are the times when he works on new line-ups or finds new players who he thinks are cancerous to the team. The irony is that they are usually the ones who see through his facade. Too bad his contract is guaranteed. People need to realize that this league protects noone. As soon as these guys are released they are cut off. No severance pay nothing to leave with but there pride. It is unforgiving and the club needs to know this as they drop yet another group of young players on the street. The best solution is a sale of club to someone who really cares about the sport and is concerned about how Indianapolis contributes to the face of soccer in this country. As the current status is embarrassing and unacceptable. The talent pool that has come through this town has been and is good enough to compete admirably in this league. It is time now to have an organization which can match up on all levels.

...Also I have never been witness to so many cases of individuals meddling in others business and then choosing to share this with the staff, it's pathetic.
