to get the ball rolling on the talk
in todays Strib they had a tiny blurb about the Gopher soccer team awards.
U soccer team presents awards
The Gophers soccer team announced its team awards at its season-ending banquet Sunday at the McNamara Alumni Center.
Freshman Lindsey Schwartz (six goals, 17 points) was named the team's offensive MVP, and fellow rookie Kaitlin Wagner of Wayzata was named MVP of the midfield.
A native of Bettendorf, Iowa, Schwartz became only the second freshman since 1995 to lead the team in scoring. Wagner finished fourth on the team in scoring with two goals and five points. She was also a key component of a defense which led the Big Ten with a 0.65 goals-against average.
Senior Nicki Burnie was named the team's defensive MVP after earning second-team All-Big Ten honors.
The other awards: Coalminer Award: Hailey McCarthy, Spark Award: Nikki Jensen, Most Improved Award: Jamie Cheever, Rose Grimm Hero Award: Molly Schneider
link so it looks Lindsay Shwartz, Kaitlin Wagner, Molly Schneider, and possibly Nikki Jensen (theres a Nicohle Jensen from the U listed on the team list but not certain) are among the award winners attending the tryouts.
