If the standing section is moved for the reason of smoke bombs alone I am going to be pretty damn pissed. Now, if the section is moved because the Thunder want those seats than there isn't much we could do about it.
I would just rather be standing in the seats on the side of the stadium and not in the north end. Perhaps move a few sections to the north and swap the benches of the teams.
Just an idea.
That way we could stick in awesome seats around about 18-30yards out and still be close to the beer garden while maintaining the side position and filling the stadium.
I have found that the sections by the supporters fill the first at game time. I believe this is because of their proximity to concessions and the ticket gate. Further down has more space and could help solve the perceived problem of the supporters filling primo seats.

I hadn't thought about moving a couple sections further north, but that is an excellent idea, Mr. Rookie. If the general entrance policy is the same with only the main gate open (and I don't know if that is in the plans to change or not), the southern side of the main stand is always much more full, just because it's closer.

Further down has more space and could help solve the perceived problem of the supporters filling primo seats. I think this is a great idea but depends on the coach and or team. If you recall, at the Jimmy we sat on the left side and the right side was closest to the gate so that filled up first. Which I think I've heard was one of the original reasons for sitting where we did at The Jimmy. Of course the overriding factor being behind the opposition bench. This was switched when we moved to NSC because of Amos. Before the season started he considered moving the bench to the other side of the half-way line because: A) He thought it might change his luck (That didn't work, did it?) B) On the right side of the field you have the linesman running up and down in front of you. Your not obstructed on the left side. Does anyone know, is there a traditional home field side in Futbol, like there is with dugouts in baseball? Seems like it's something I should know but don't. If the team switched sides it would allow us to be on that north end and I think SR is right in that it fills in slower and would be closer to the Stand duNord and the beer garden. All of that could change however if the team opened up the gate on the north end which I think they should do. Lastly, I'm in agreement with Lep and Matt, I liked the smoke in the beginning but don't think it's that big of a deal and if it's a compromise we need to make so be it. But I see that staying most likely staying in the Stand duNord anyway, which is perhaps a good idea.

Assuming you are referring to me, I don't recall expressing a strong opinion either way. I realize I am probably too late and people are already off and running with it, but let's not let smoke bombs into the considerations here. I don't think anyone has advocated for a particular arrangement or location based on smoke bombs.

Oh by the way, Stand duNord is a great name. But I also think the supporters section should be called, "The Buzz", as we have talked about previously, honoring the founder and first coach of the Thunder.

I thought the Beer Garden would be called "The Buzz" Personally, I'm not so concerned with the name of the supporters group (or eventually, groups, as growth occurs). I love the moniker, Stand duNord.

Are people going to the meeting tonight? It seems like everyone's comments have been prefaced with regrets over being unable to attend.
I'm not going. But hopefully a few people are.
