It stands for "GNU's Not Unix" Check Wikipedia for 'recursive acronym' and you'll find the full definition, plus a list of examples. They were basically created by crazy computer types who decided to make fun of the rules of acronyms. (Really annoying for me, as a technical writer/editor!) Bit more random trivia: it's actually pronounced "G-noo" not "gnu" like the wildebeest. http://www.gnu.org/ _________________________ Two of the common loon's calls are the tremolo, which sounds a bit like maniacal laughter, an aggressive call; and the yodel, sounded by male loons guarding their territory. Anyways, great work everyone! I am super excited for next year. Based on the 56-person standing section for the playoff game, we all need to bring 5ish friends to get to Hoppy's 300 target. That gives us all something to work on for the coming winter! I have my personal targets--think of yours too.
