you are right
it takes nerve to make the right calls in the face of a hostile home team
but when you deserve it a good ref will stand up to constant verbal abuse with warnings, and then cards
even if its red
make your bed, then lie in it

Not surprisingly, I am with Mr. Bruce on this. A Miami supporter comes on the Thunder message board with a It's The Referee's Fault whinge and expects....what exactly? Total agreement? Anything other than mockery?

i love it when teams blame the ref for their loss - funny.

Did anyone send the wire transfer for tomorrow's ref yet?

For those of us who didn't get a chance to see the game, can someone explain what resulted in three red cards in the last ten minutes?

I was interested too and went and watched the last 10 minutes of the match, and here were the red cards.

84' - With play stopped and a player down in the box, away from the ball, deRoux for Minnesota grabbed the ball and was walking back towards his own goal with it and Nunes didn't like that. Surprisingly similar to an incident in Portland earlier this year when a Minnesota player did the same thing and resulted in a scuffle (but no cards), but they got into a bit of a scuffle this time too and Nunes may have contacted deRoux in the face, it was really hard to see though. deRoux got a yellow, Nunes got a red.

87' - After what looked like a fair non call, Pulido said something to the ref and got a straight red.

89' - Ramirez made a hard tackle just outside the box (to the side), may have gotten the player with the trailing leg, was already carrying a yellow, so got a second yellow and the ejection.

Bruno Menezes for Miami may also get a suspension for confronting the referees after the match. It was not pretty, and will be interesting to see what the result of all this is.

I was under the impression that Nunez already had a card(24th min?) when the later incident took place, thus the red.
Either way it made for rather an ugly finish
to the game.
An ugly WIN which i will gladly take. laugh

You're right, according to the match report Nunes already had a yellow. I didn't notice him getting yellow first during the broadcast, and the announcer certainly didn't mention it. But that would make much more sense, both players getting yellow for the altercation.

It means they will be short all three players for tomorrow's game too, which is a huge loss for them.

I don't see any of those calls in Miami as being bad calls personally, but have seen a few instances if ridiculous reds this year hurting for two games.

This just isn't one of them.
