Big Apple Soccer says Tony Sanneh is coming to play with the Thunder for a few weeks and try to get himself match fit so he can play in MLS again

Chicago traded his rights to Colorado this week, but Sanneh wants to play in New York and so Colorado is trying to make a deal for that to happen.

Interesting. This quote:

I can practice all you want, but when you step on the field and have to push yourself, it's different.

makes it sound like the main point of coming here would be to play in actual games as opposed to just training. In the next 2 weeks (assuming that's starting now or soon), you would have:

Thurs 7/26 California at home
Sat 7/28 @ Rochester
Sat 8/4 Portland at home

There aren't any exhibitions scheduled during that time that I can see. Who would he replace if he played? I guess if you went with the 3-1-4-2 from the last couple games he could play on the right in the back in place of Zenoni maybe.

Front page of the PP sports section today, and also linked from the home page of the web site. The article says he expects to start on Thursday, and expects to play 2 games before returning to MLS. Which would mean he would play in Rochester it seems. Amos quote:

"We have a young group of guys, and we're finally starting to figure out how we want to play," Thunder coach Amos Magee said. "With bringing Tony in now, of course there's the concern about chemistry. But this opportunity is too good to pass up."

Tony practiced with the team last night for the first time. He makes it look so effortless! Didn't lose possession of the ball once, good cross-field long balls. Interestingly, he was the most vocal player on the field.

Damn! And I'm not going to be make the game Thursday night. Here's hoping he plays well and is enjoyable for those that can be there.
