i was wondering if any of you were participating in the outreach group the thunder is organising and what ideas you might have to broaden the teams fanbase?i would like to see a poster/flier campaign in mpls./st paul which could be multilingual(spanish/somali/hmong).getting such posters out on the streets would create more visibility and,hopefully,translate into more folks checking out the thunder.any other ideas??

Are you talking about the email some of us season ticket holders got from TJ about monthly get together club that has dinner and acts as volunteers making phone calls?

Sorry, but I only saw that as thinly disguised way to get more volunteers. I don't mind volunteering but not coerced into it like that.

Actually, Vicki did a ton of calls the week before the 1999 championship. How do you think we got 10,000 fans there ? She knows what this is all about !

While it may have been obvious what TJ was really after, it's fans stepping up and going the extra mile who can make more of a difference in support of their team.

Does that mean everyone should do it ? Nope !

Does that mean you should feel guilty if you don't have the time to do it ? Nope ! Just keep showing up for games.

BUT, there will be folks who are willing to do this AND have the time to do it. You'll never know without asking though ! That's what TJ was doing.

Kudos to TJ for thinking of other ways to get the fans involved !

I wonder how these people got on TJ's list? I used to help the Thunder here and there; was asked to from time-to-time, but then it stopped (I offered a few times, no call-backs). Oh, well... too busy now.
