yeah, theres no way he was intentionally trying to hurt anyone. his timing was just waaaay off. hamilton has been one of the better defenders in the league the past couple of years, a hard nosed, lunch pail type of guy. i'm sure he feels pretty bad about it actually.

A hit like that in the NFL would earn a financial sanction. Intent, is really a question of intent to do the act.

Soccer Boy, you forget that D2 players have very little 'financial' to sanction...

The guy needs to learn a lesson. I would say three match suspension, plus $5K.

I'm telling you the best punishment would be to make him play co-ed rec... An eye for an eye type of stuff.

Two weeks in the East Edmonton lowest level co-ed rec league.

After two games of getting kicked in the shins by a bunch of hacks girlfriends he will never again make another rec play type of decision.

After further consideration, I would not call it violent conduct, but reckless ... still a RED card in my book.

Please don't call it dangerous play, that is something different entirely.

$5k? How much do you think these guys get paid? That's what, a quarter of his salary?

The league deemed the 1 match suspension for the red carded offensive enough punishment in this instance. I would have to agree.

Hamilton is lucky I am not the commissioner. Moura posted the clip on Facebook. Thanks to our Canadian friends and their excellent North of the Border technology that allows them to slow the play down, you can see the ball is 2-3 yards away from Moura when he is hit in a vicious and wanton manner that was done in reckless disregard for player safety.

Playing the ball? My A$$!

You just gave us all something in common with Paul Hamilton.

Way to humanize him!
