It was actually pretty funny once everyone realized we had listened to the anthem about 3 or 4 times.

I take exception to the Puerto Rican "national anthem" being played at all. Playing it falsely assumes that they are a sovereign nation, which they are not. Flying the Puerto Rican flag at the same height as the US flag on US territory is also contrary to federal law. I doubt they play the Minnesotan state anthem when we play in Puerto Rico, or fly our state flag.

PS: Only one state flag can fly as high as the US State flag on American soil. That state flag is the state flag of Texas. The reason is that the Republic of Texas used to be a sovereign.

Nothing in the flag code states that another flag may not be on the same level as the United States Flag, only that they should not be placed on a higher level or to the flag's own right. 4 USC §7(f)

You gonna call out MLS, MLB etc. for having flag patches on their uniforms too? 4 USC §8(j)

Quote:
No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform. However, a flag patch may be affixed to the uniform of military personnel, firemen, policemen, and members of patriotic organizations.

The really weird flag people are those who believe the gold trim around a US flag signfies something sinister and get overly angry when they see it on display.

As for the Stars, I have a feeling things will begin to turn around this weekend against the Eddies.

Yes. It's dumb.

No one has posted anything relating to the play of the Stars for over a week, I'd say it's pretty clear us fans don't have much to say about it besides it's been pretty awful. Some good notes, mostly bad, but I hope things turn around soon because I'm getting sick of seeing the Stars slowly creep their way down the standings table, especially at a time when the success of the team is the only thing they can offer to a potential buyer at the moment. But when they do turn it around, I'm sure we will resume talking about how each individual fan would run the team with conflicting line ups. On to the Flyover Cup.

You are going to have to explain this UK thing in the Olympics and no England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland. I don't get it...
