Hey, there's another game on Wednesday!

Jack "Cosmo" Stewart and rest of the mcdonalds staff/retirees return to Minnesota on Wednesday.
They're just coming from a draw against the Scorpions, where Andy Herron scored twice. They had 6 yellow cards (two to Motagalvan, so he won't be here) to San Antonio's 5 (two to Cochrane.) That's what happens when players don't play well, they resort to being ruffians and thugs.
Scott Gordon has returned, after failing at Chivas USA. He "made 3 appearances" before being waived. They've dropped Yoximar Granado.

Anchor food truck is back, USACUP is in full swing, and Team USA amputee soccer will be playing a demo!

Should be a fun game. A win is needed to keep pace with the other teams at the top, which is pretty tightly bunched.

Any lineup thoughts? A few of us were discussing at the last match that we'd like to see a few more changes just to keep guys fresh, especially with the hot weather. The midfield especially, the same 4 guys (Venegas, Takada, Hlavaty, Ibarra) have played a lot of minutes and seem like they could use a break. Not all in the same game, but it seems like there is better depth on the squad this year, so maybe try and rest one of them each game or something to keep them a little fresher.

Kallman and Davis too actually, now that I think about it. Is Kallman around, or is he off on a honeymoon for a bit?

I like Amani and Nunez up top. Taka is playing great soccer and is going forward more. I really do not see any changes, however, I have not been to training since the last match.

I do not see Kallman taking time off in the middle of the season. I am curious if Kyle is 100%. I feel bad that he has been plagued by injury. This is the first season his has missed time due to injury since he started with the Stars--I think he only missed time the last year of the Thunder due to misconduct.

Didn't Altman get a red early this season against the Eddies. I believe that was the start of the Kyle Altman Red Card Fund. Speaking of which, anybody know where we're at with that? No need to google it for me, i'm just lazy and hope someone else is willing check into it.

If I could, I'd start with:

Walker & Bracalello up top.
Ibarra and Venegas outside in the middle, Takada and Rodriguez center.
Altman and Dias holding down the central D, with Kallman and (Tchoupe or Davis, although I get annoyed at both of them) out wide.

Walker wouldn't play a whole game but - AND THIS IS IMPORTANT - when he went off, everyone would have to stop playing as though he was still on. Keep it on the goddamn ground if you don't have tall guys in the box. I know Nunez put one in with his head, but let's not get carried away.

Nunez, for me, is a great sub to have as a sucker punch. He has great pace and finds space in the box well, but he doesn't do that all game. I cannot figure out why he keeps starting; matched against fresh legs his energy and threat has less impact. Bring him on late and I think he can unbalance a tiring defence.

Bracalello, Kallman and Ibarra all have had good games crossing, I'd like to see that continue.

Tchoupe makes me nervous every time he dribbles the ball away from defense.

Personally, I'd leave Nunez in with Walker as the starters up top for this match. In general, I agree about Nunez working better off the bench, and Walker/Bracalello is probably the default starting combo I would go with assuming everyone is healthy, etc. But Nunez is hot right now, so I just don't see taking him out of the lineup when he's scoring almost every game.

I grudgingly agree with this, but I would also be subbing him in the 50th minute if he comes out at a half looking like he's been consistently looking. I think bringing 3D on with 12 minutes left in a game is a waste. He's the opposite of Nunez and NEEDS time to find the game.

Watson and Neil in the center of the mid for me. Brock and Nunez up front in a build up style of attack 442 leaving the fulbacks back to take away space to attack into. We start out conservative. If that is not working then Nunez becomes an attacking mid in a 451 and Amani goes in up high as the #9, Taka comes in as holding central player and the most tired central mid goes out. Or, maybe the other way around. smile

You are correct. We were up a player after an Eddies red. Altman was wrong accused of a foul that never happened.

That would be called trolling Aaron. What size of a fish did you expect to catch with that heavy line?
