The Charlotte Eagles celebrated 20 years of professional soccer by hoasting a dinner with their alumni players on Friday night and then playing an Eagles alumni game on Saturday morning. The only real important result of that game was that no one got hurt.
The Charlotte Eagles beat the Riverhounds 2-0 Saturday night during a rain delayed night where the 8:00 game did not start the 4th minute of the game until 10:30 PM. Some big thunder storms rolled through south Charlotte right as the game started. The players were sent back to the locker room to play with there phones for 2 1/2 hours until the lightning cleared the area.
With its fifth USL Pro league win in a row Charlotte is now in the playoff hunt sitting in sixth place with 23 points. The LA Blues, and Richmond Kickers share the sixth spot, also with 23 points. All three teams have played 17 games.
Harrisburg City Islanders are in fifth, and have 24 points on 16 games. The Wilmington Hammerheads are in fourth and have 26 points on 18 games.

They made it all the way past every NASL team losing at the Home Depot Center to Chivas USA in the quarterfinals.
The Lady Eagles played the first game of the doubleheader night and won 1-0 their game vs the favorite Atlanta Silverbacks Ladies. That win clinched the top spot in the USL-W League Southeast Division.
