I just read on Big Apple Soccer that FCNY beat the NY Red Bulls U23 last night. Alexis Garcia scored early in the second half. Sounds like NYRB-U23 had a lot of good chances though. FCNY goalkeeper Hector Guerrero must have had a good night.

This morning I saw a news item on the FC New York web site which mentions two interesting things: (1) FCNY's manager Paul Shaw's move to Orlando City SC, and (2) the time and venue of tonight's (16 June 2012) match against the Brooklyn Italians is at 8pm at Allen Park in South Farmingdale.

The (official?) schedule on the NPSL web site shows a 7pm kick-off in an undisclosed location. And I couldn't find any corroborating information on the Brooklyn Italians' web site.

I've been keeping an eye on the NPSL site and the FC New York site and I haven't seen anything about rescheduling the match against the Brooklyn Italians.

NYRB U-23 beat the Brooklyn Italians a goal to nil yesterday, btw.

I might try and make the NYRB/FCNY match at Mitchell Field in Uniondale on Saturday nite. Are you around?

Alas, I'm committed elsewhere Saturday evening. I had thought about trying to make the Knights v. Bohs at the Met Oval on Friday, but that got bumped for other (fun) obligations. I will be bringing a few boys from my youth team to see the Rough Riders play Ocean City on Wednesday though.

getting out to Long Island during the week for me (since I work in CT) would be quicker if I actually swam across the Long Island Sound.
