Anyway, according the Valkyries' twitter feed (and confirmed by today's match report) the match had to be abandoned due to a loss of power to the lighting system at the field. I guess these things happen. It appears that the Lady Rough Riders will get the 1-nil victory credited to them for the 14th minute goal by Brooke DeRosa (assisted by Kelly Eagan).

I wonder if someone pulled the plug on the lights just to shut up that annoying Valkyries supporter who whines loudly about all the ref's calls. Probably not.

was the match past the 70th minute? If not, then the match can't be official.

That's what I was wondering. I haven't been able to find out the official time.

Looks like the Rough Rider ladies had a goal fest last Saturday. 3 goals in the first 9 minutes! Two by Grace Hawkins (minutes 3 & 6).

Looking ahead, the Lady RRs play at home next on Sunday.

indicates a "Double Header" next Wednesday, the 11th. Which I assume is a typo (?) since the women aren't scheduled to play that night.

Lady RRs trounced New York Magic this afternoon, 6-2. Excellent showing by the Riders. Grace Hawkins getting a hat trick (at least), maybe four. The Magic's GK had to work hard and did make some excellent saves.
