I braved the labyrinth of Maspeth and found (at the center) not a bull-creature, but Knights beset by the Oncoming Storm. The Ocean City Nor'easters got on the board in the 7th minute and it looked like the Knights would come back. They really needed that one goal before the half, but it just didn't happen.
The Knights looked flat during the second half. Despite refreshing the front line with subs, the goal scoring machine stayed dormant while the Nor'easters counter-attacked successfully.
The match should have ended 2-0, but things went crazy in the 89th minute. A PK for a hand ball in the box put the Nor'easters up 3-0. In the next couple of minutes the Nor'easters goal keeper tried to clock one of the Knights on the jaw in his box. He earned his second yellow of the night and was sent off. The Knights PK went in and denied the Nor'easters a clean sheet.
Final score: 3-1.
I'll be at Cy Donnelly Stadium when the Nor'easters travel back out to the Island to face the Rough Riders. My Rough Riders' scarf is ready.
