Ozzie just received his US citizenship.....good for you, what a journey you've had. Brings up the question of can he now play for the USMNT even though he played in senior matches for Cuba. I plowed through FIFA rules years ago looking for the answer to that question. It's a murky issue when it comes to countries that are at war, countries dissolve, new countries pop up, players get expelled, etc. The part I never could get around though was Ozzie left of his own free will, he wasn't expelled and his home country is still a member of FIFA. Having said that, his case is a bit unique and FIFA does hear special cases so maybe we will actually get to see him in the red, white and blue. How cool would that be?
