The player interviews crack me up. Luis Gil's adroit tactical assessment was that they had a hard time adjusting to the slower pace of play.

Amani Walker is a beast, but how about Brian Kallman going on 11 straight games without a red card!

I don't know, man. RSL looked poleaxed after that third goal went in. If you play 100% for the first 70 minutes of a game, what does that mean?

Interesting side note. In Soccer America's MLS Power Rankings for this week RSL was number one. No matter how you slice it, the Stars outplayed them despite some huge tactical breakdowns.

Great night for "minor leage" soccer. Love it when the little guy wins. Lets hope the USMNT was watching and takes note.

Oh, I love these puzzles!

Q: If a train leaves Salt Lake City at 8pm and travels towards the Twin Cities at full speed for 70% of the the journey and then slows down to half of its full speed for the last 30% of the journey, how much of their money did Djorn make off with while they were dicking around on a train?

This is impressive.

The 17,212 fans is the largest for a non-final U.S. Open Cup match.

[I honestly (really) hadn't Ford Prefect's nice ditty when I posted a BOTCHED version of this on a highly reputable and respected website that I often been know to erh uhm frequent. This might be a much better venue for it and since my old Pal, Ford laugh got the already got the ball rolling...]

Here was my version of the classice Steve Miller jam, dedicated to the Stars demolition of Real Salt Lak last night ]

This here’s a story about two Dudes, Djorn and Lagos
They took a chance, rolled the dice, knowin’ was “do or die”
Some folks called em crazy, and was askin’ em why
Those two Minnesota boys, with hunger in their bellies, Stars in their eyes

Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run

They took that ca$h and headed down to Ole Salk Lake
Took their posse with em, to Tinto on the Rio
Took it to the local boys, yeah and they had their way with ‘em
Outmanned, outgunned, now some folks are askin’ just how could that be, oh?

Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run

Now Mr. that Mister J. Kries, he did the best that he could
You know that he believed his young guns were ready
He had trained em right, he had trained em good
But those Du Nord boys were just too determined, too steady

They got the money, hey
You know they got away
They headed back North and they’re still laughin’ today

Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run

Oooh, oooh, oooh!
