What is really impressive to me is the depth of our talent considering the signings we had a week before the start of the first game.

Either Manny is a genius in knowing a quality player for his system or has a great methodology of bringing players into the system.

I'm excited to see us play PR.

Agree with that but give Kevin Friedland some credit as well. He has found some of these players, the guys from California and Luke Mulholland last year, and does most of the scouting for the team to prepare for the next match. I really like the trifecta as I call them, Lagos, Craig and Friedland. They are all very different personality types but have really figured out a way to make it work.

Maybe the team formerly known as FC Tampa Bay could contract with Kevin to find some color commentary/play by play talent.

They were really horrible. My favorite line was when the PBP guy talked about fatigue and playing 3 games in a week, the color guy pipes up and says something about how they are young and shouldn't really be tired. Then the PBP guys says something like, Weren't you a goalkeeper?

Yeah that was absolute genius.

It was shortly thereafter I turned off the sound and made the thread.

I don't want to sound bitchy about Friday night cuz the defense was awesome, but we seemed to missing that other half of the team, the offense.

I found those announcers to be hilarious! For some reason I am always entertained by terrible announcers. I am glad they don't make me furious, but cuz there were a lot of reasons for those two dopes to make me furious. They were brutal!

From my coaching perspective it is easier to get players to defend v. attack/score. When you look at it, the players in the game had zero match time together. It was good in a way because it allowed Manny to rest the starters for Tuesday, and we got a point. Hopefully those "missing two points" will not bit the Stars in the butt come play-off time. However, at this point Carolina, Edmonton and Atlanta do not seem to be serious about making the play-offs.

I've been wondering if it's possible to create an alternate audio feed for the video of away games, which would allow someone (fans?) to provide properly biased commentary. I have no idea if such an idea is even technically feasible but it would sure make watching these games more fun.

It's been done here; Lightning Striker and other Dark Clouds have done it in the past (before I moved back)

Brenda, who doesn't watch too many matches with me, walked into the room where I had the speakers on to listen to the live stream. She's does like soccer but isn't really a sports person and she turns to me and says, "These announcers are really bad!" I just laughed.
