Championship side Nottingham Forest will come to the US this summer for training and pre-season matches. Forest feature former RSL striker Robbie Findley in the attack.

Nice if it all comes together! I used to watch Forest quite a bit when I lived in England mainly due to Ben Olsen playing with them at the time.

I think I still have a Forest scarf somewhere....

Good luck.. we did that in 2004.. was awesome.. except for Fat Joe Kinnear whining about the distances traveled and the heat & humidity (DC to Richmond is a long way?? Really Fat Joe?). I'm surprised they're coming back over, even though he is long gone.. they were relegated from the Championship after that season and blamed "inadequate preseason preparation"

I heard this yesterday too. It helps, that their manager has been to Charleston before, so he knows what to expect.

Sunderland, Portsmouth and Bolton all said it was very helpful to almost die from heat stroke here in preseason...when they returned to the balmy English summer, they needed to wear a jacket.

We'll probably have some fans from Greensboro, NC visit. The PDL squad up there, Carolina Dynamo, is owned by Neil Macpherson, a Forest fan and share holder of the Forest club in England. And the Greensboro club has been around almost as long as the Battery, I didn't realize that. In any event, it'll be a very good time, can't wait.

That's the weekend after I get home from watching Villa and Roma in Chicago. So many European games this summer!

It'll be cool seeing Forest since they're one of (now) five English teams with a European Cup.
