Here is an article/preview on Tony Donatelli and tonight's match against his former team, the Rochester Rhinos. Hopefully, they will be a little tired from their 1-0 victory over Charlotte last night.

Here is the club's preview, can't get it on the web site for some reason.

Charleston, SC. The Charleston Battery (4-1-0) squares off with the Rochester Rhinos (4-0-0) Saturday night at Blackbaud Stadium; gates open at 6:00 PM with kick off set for 7:30 PM. The Battery enters the game looking for a fourth consecutive win following last Friday night's 4-0 victory over Antigua Barracuda F.C. Saturday's match will be broadcast live on 1450 AM with a the pre-game show starting at 7:15 PM.
Rochester and Charleston are tied for second position in the USL PRO standings with both sides sitting on twelve points. The Rhinos have an opportunity to take a three point lead over the Battery as they will play the Charlotte Eagles on Friday night in the first match of their weekend trip.
Battery midfielder's Jose Cuevas and Nicki Paterson both scored in the 4-0 win over Antigua and share the Battery points lead with three goals and two assists each. Forwards Sallieu Bundu and Dane Kelly also both scored as the Battery registered four goals at home for the first time this season.
Goalkeeper Andrew Dykstra was largely untroubled in the game and did not record a save as he earned a third consecutive shut-out. Dykstra is with the Battery on-loan from Major League Soccer's D.C. United with both of Charleston's rostered goalkeepers Alec Kann and Kevin Klasila sidelined through injury.
The Rochester Rhinos under new head coach Jesse Myers have got off to a flying start in the USL PRO season winning all four games they have played without conceding a goal. The Rhinos most recent match was a 1-0 win versus the Charlotte Eagles in a game played last Saturday night in Rochester.
The Battery have enjoyed a long rivalry with the Rhinos extending back to the 1998 season; Saturday's game will be the 35th all-time meeting between the clubs. In 2011 the Battery lost twice to Rochester, 1-0 at Rochester (05/07) and 1-0 in the return fixture at Blackbaud Stadium (07/30). Rochester leads the all-time series with 16 wins to the Battery's 10; 8 games have finished tied.
Kick for a Cure to benefit Dragon Boat Charleston and Susan G. Komen for a Cure
It's the Charleston Battery's annual Kick for a Cure game on Saturday to benefit Dragon Boat Charleston and Susan G. Komen for a Cure. The players will be wearing special Pink jerseys that will be auctioned during and after the game.
Battery Pink Ticket packs for the match include one East Box Ticket and a Kick for the Cure koozie for $11. $3 from each Battery Pink Ticket will be donated directly to the Lowcountry Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the CureŽ and Dragon Boat Charleston.

tough result as the Battery lose 1-0.

Disappointing as we outshot Rochester 20-2 had 12 corners to their 2.

Their keeper was on fire last night, 10 saves. and like Auggie said in teh paper today, it was like he had flypaper on his gloves, his arms, his gut, everywhere.

The boys played some really nice ball too, not sure who lost their many that lead to Rochester's only goal (and one of there two shots)

Rochester is a good team, and I expect they will be a contender for the Championship this year if they can find a bit more offense as their season progresses.

One the plus side, I know they raised a good amount of money for Charity last night. Johnny wilson jersey sold for $500!

Also good to meet Justin, hope you can make it down for some more matches

finally, the tailgate was awesome! the pork Tenderloin were great if I do say so myself and the rice the Mrs. Bribetaker was very good (thanks for sharing your secret!)

USOC up next and then the LA blues as the Battery take a break next weekend.

Somewhat of a disappointing result after having so much possession AND scoring 4 in the previous match. I didn't realize the stats were that much in our favor. But you'll have those days and we'll probably have a similar win sometime this season.

It is pretty remarkable though that Rotchester has played 6 and won 5 of them 1-0. Those are Coach Ramsey-like numbers. I went back and checked our 2003 season and we had nine 1-0 results that year, winning 7 and only losing 2. The Rhinos are very organized and don't get out of position very much, definitely how you need to play on the road. Their new coach from Richmond is obviously got them on the right track. And Orlando doesn't seem to be quite as dominating as last year. This past weekend, they beat Antigua in the 89' on an own goal then when they played them 2 days later, they had to come from behind to win 2-1. It's going to be a fun year and I like our team, much more offense than last season. The only question mark (for me) is our GK situation. When our regulars get healthy, it's going to be an adjustment for them to get mentally fit & reacquainted with their teammates. Also looking forward to another deep Cup run......

I just want to know what it's going to take for me to see a win at home!

It was a little bit frustrating to watch, but a fun time nonetheless. The mother enjoyed her gift (and the cookout). Charleston should be able to pick up a new keeper with the amount she spent on souvenirs...

Happy to meet everyone and looking forward to the USOC!
