Don't see why that would peeve people off. Against the strikers the pitch conditions seemed fairly poor, both teams were way off on all their free kicks. I'd much rather see them hit it hard into chaos than shoot off-frame.

I would like to see less golazo attempts on free kicks. Sure, Simone can put one away in a blue moon, same with Hlavaty. I would rather see set pieces into the area every now and again.

Or, we need a legit threat like Sanchez.

Maybe the ref didn't give the second yellow to Taka because he knew the first one was so lame. (He sure earned what would have been the second.) I think refs reflect throughout a game and know when they need to let someone off the hook.

With the team playing this 4-2-3-1 you will always see Walker running all over the top 1/3 of the field, just like Civilikas did to so much success late last year. He makes the defense work extra hard to keep their shape and when he pulls them out of place it open spots for others to crash the net. Now we need to get guys to shoot.

Maybe a few Kallman pile-drivers on those free kicks could do some damage or at least create the chaos others have mentioned they would like to see.

He is certainly more physical this year than he was last season.

Taka is starting to remind me a little bit of Freddie Juarez.

I was kind of surprised he didn't get up and punch Lorenz in the throat after that slide from behind. I don't know what Scotty was thinking there. Taka'd been giving as good as he got all game, but that last one where Lorenz got carded was crazy.

The only problem I have with him playing like that is eventually somebody's going to use their elbows to inform him that he's 5'6" and weight 180 with two pockets full of laundry quarters.

That is the vibe I've always gotten from watching Taka, with the difference being that he provides more in the attacking 1/3 than Freddy did.

After the game I kept thinking about that tackle. If it wasn't Taka and knowing how mild mannered and polite he is, I would have thought that Scotty had some back lying issue with him from his days playing here. But it's hard to imagine that. Not sure what Lorenz' issue was but it sure pissed me off.

Taka told me today, "I'm samurai. I'm fine."

I think the video speaks volumes of Lorenz intent. His intent was to injure! He should be sanctioned by the NASL!
