speaking of weird catholicism, what was with the 500 latino community re enacting the crucifiction at peavey plaza? i'll say at least they did wait for our presentation to be done to migrate. and man did Djorn sell the team to that demographic. so many people seemed interested.

Fun watching him push around 17-year-olds last night in Richfield too. Once those kids started to get a little frustrated I was impressed with the restraint most of the stars showed in not punking them further to get more of a rise out of them... Sassano included.
Still... I wish they would have let those kids shoot a little more. I'm very curious about our backup goalkeeper situation.

I was also watching Mitch in training this AM. I think he needs to shore up his technique a little. The big thing for me is he was really not getting set prior to the shot being taken. He did do an above average job with his footwork--rarely crossing his feet, which is something Joe Warren did all the time.
Here is roughly a two minute clip from a series of training activities they were doing today. There is a lazy goal or two, however, I would point out that he was on his sixth or seventh rep of 2 minutes of life fire and anyone would be a little winded.
The Stars also had another GK training with them today--guess he has been with them for a while. I guess he is officially not on the roster...something to do with all the fine print.

That third keeper's nickname is Baba. Can't remember his real name. He stopped a really weak penalty shot from a 16-year-old kid last night... so... Do with that what you will, I guess. He seemed to have a good attitude and didn't get mad when a frustrated kid tried to run him over once.
Rook, Taka I didn't see Taka at the scrimmage last night. Dunno why.

It was fun to watch the kids wonder how come all of a sudden they were looking at 8 guys in front of them when they just now got the ball in midfield. That was funny.
My takeaways: * Watching pros try to play on a narrow field is hilarious. * If Devin Del Do got a dollar for every time he hit the frame, he'd buy the team himself * Devin Del Do also gets subbed off at halftime and continues to run until the lights go out while most of his team mates putter around on the sidelines. Dude wants to start. * Sean Chin does not move off the ball. * Martin Nunez pretty much took the night off, and he still dropped my jaw once making asses out of two defenders with one touch. * Kevin Friedland never puts a ball anywhere but exactly where it should be, unless he touches it with his feet.
