I think this is awesome. But what is the melody? It's hard to figure out how to replicate something like that. Also, how are they getting the red flashes?
Also, in terms of song additions I have one suggestion: songs with verses don't tend to work. I'm thinking of Pfutz's suggestion, which seems particularly appropriate to Minnesota Stars fans singing, but it would be impossible to bring into the song repertoire, I think. Think simple. We want it to be so natural that we can sing it and yell it while we're watching the game. Neil also suggested that we get some recordings up so people can learn things. Are there particular versions of songs/chants that we think we need recorded? Some I can do on my own. For others, I am going to do some field recording at a few of our games this year and we can get good version up on the internet machine.
I for one am going to do my damnedest to get The Turtles' "Happy Together" sung out this year, so start listening to that (if you don't have that song memorized, then I feel bad for you). That and we never made good on our promise to sing The Beastie Boys' Sure Shot.

Idk man if people can hammer out forever blowing bubbles you can belt about any song out if enough people know it. And that includes happy together, with it's verses I wasn't all that serious in saying we'd use the RAA song, more that its appropriate to my nostalgia for being a fan.

Wes, I think you have a valid point in many verses being difficult to implement, however it's much easier if the tune/harmony is clear. My favorite song (outside of /the team that nobody wanted/) is Ballad of Bracalello, which is verse heavy.
Team connected DCs, is there a reason the song sheet isn't directly linked on the MN Stars FC website? It'd probably be a good idea to have a source for it (if I was a random on the far side and wanted to look them up I'd go to the website FANZONE).
EDIT: I'm an idiot I see it there now.

I agree with you guys. Everyone once and a while, those big verse songs rock. I mean, Electrical Banana! I think the tendency is to suggest big projects, but as we've seen some of the best are the short, on-the-fly songs. For example, "Whining Fana" to the tune of the Fanta jingle? Damn that's funny.
Also, I want to sing this: "Oh where oh where is Jonny Steele Oh where oh where can he be? He should have been your captain and where is Martin Rennie?"

One of the best D2 chants against a player formerly in MLS is, "'INSERT NAME OF TEAM' Reject!" I wonder if the Impact will be hearing the chant, "NASL Rejects" during the course of the season. They were after all "relegated" by failing to make the play-offs.

I still like "When You Wish Upon A Star." Agreed. We should just find a good time to sing it regularly. Towards the end of a match we're comfortably winning would be perfect, but I don't want to count on that being too common an occurrence (too many years supporting MN teams....)

I still like "When You Wish Upon A Star." Maybe at the start of the game, just before the anthem and lineups

Maybe at the start of the game, just before the anthem and lineups LOL, you think people are going to be in the stadium before the game starts.
