The Stars have announced their preseason schedule:



March 5: Signed and returning players required to report

March 6: Training begins

March 9: Stars FC at Chicago Fire in Bridgeview, Ill.

March 16: Stars FC at Hastings College in Hastings, Neb.

March 18: Stars FC at Creighton University and Stars FC at University of Nebraska at Omaha in Creighton University in Omaha, Neb.

March 23: Intrasquad scrimmage, site to be announced

April 2: Stars FC vs. FC Edmonton, site to be announced

hey, that doesnt look terrible. wish i could make it down to chicago again, that trip was a blast last year.

Also, I'm going to try to do a video or story this afternoon but Manny said he's excited about next week as he has a number of players invited to come in and train with the existing player. Supposedly there is some definite quality is some of the guys coming in.

A couple of other updates. Sadly Kyle Altman pulled his hammy again yesterday training. The signed Stars players that are here in the cities are working this week at Fit Studios and getting quite a work out and the combine takes place in the Field House.

Also, I see that Tampa signed the player of choice from the NASL Combine.

Right now on paper, the Rowdies have made the most amount of improvement on a team that wasn't bad to begin with. At this point and time I'd say they are the team to beat this season.

Actually, I think it's one of the best preseason schedules they've had in a while. Perhaps since 08 when they trained down south.

I like the look of the preseason schedule.

A few of us are going to KC for home opener on Sat Mar 17, so we might just have to stop in Omaha for Sun Mar 18 friendlies!

And FYI for people worried that the team has been silent - There have been players coming in for tryouts all winter long.

Anyone listed to the Ultra Alive podcast this week? David Downs mentioned that he has been getting a number of inquiries about potentially buying the Stars. Mentioned it didn't hurt that they were the champions.

One player referred to what they are doing as "boot camp." Manny is a flippin' magician. Only worry about the things that you can control. The Stars are going to repeat in 2012. You can take that one to the bank!

Who is interested. I am actually in the process of setting up some meetings with my eastern Wisconsin/Chicago clients. Things might get bumped up.
