So for our last home game we brought some larger format TIFO, I think it went off great and it was awesome to send the message to the team and those watching online.
My goal for the home opener is twofold:
Bigger. Better.
The way to succeed at this is by allowing ourselves more time to plan and produce. So let's get started! I'm going to begin amassing supplies, my goal is 6 King Bedsheets in scale.
Let's use this thread to brainstorm, coordinate and plan what we can do for our home opener in the Metrodome!

we definitely need new tifo for this season - New name, new badge, no longer Open Cup banned - we've got some work to do! Post your ideas here or bring them to the supporters summit. It's going to be a great season!

I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but "BELIEVE" is so two seasons ago, and "Shine On" was so last season. Also, "#WINNING" is really not cool anymore and "Occupy _________,"...well, who really cares what happened to that group.
Here are some suggestions:
1) We're #1. Don't get caught stepping in #2! 2) New year; Still our CUP! 3) FOREVER! 4) You'll never beat (fill in name of new GK) 5) Your team still sucks!
I am just bummed Montreal is not coming back. I think a Dr. Dre look alike contest would have been the best publicity stunt. We also need to come up with reasons why we don't like San Antonio.
To me, the "motto" of the year isn't that interesting. Is it just a matter of getting something on the scarf? If so, then just put "Champions" on there and let's be done with it. As for the home opener Tifo, it would be great to here where the supporters' section is going to be.

That would work. Otherwise I thought something with the new goalkeeper being involved with a wall in front of the goal.
what new goalkeeper? Last I heard, nothing has been decided for this season yet as far as goalkeepers go. We'll see what happens as it gets closer...
The new old goalkeeper. Or maybe the new new goalkeeper, or the other new old goalkeeper. Unless it's the old new goalkeeper, who is someone completely different.

Has anyone checked with the Stars as far as tifo restrictions. My general preception of the Metrodome is that they have outlawed fun. I just hope they are prepared to be invaded my 20,000 jackasses!

tifo idea: Abe Vigoda is astride Nessie, in one hand he holds the reins keeping nessie from charging in the other he holds the Soccer Bowl over his head

As noted, I tend to do player-specific stuff. I really enjoyed doing cartoon characters (Mario, Barney Rubble, Capt. America, etc) and would welcome suggestions for players and their personae.
Still tempted to do Amani Walker as Sideshow Bob.

I was just thinking how bored I was with the whole "Pleasure" angle on Del Do tifo when it occurred to me that his name has 3 Ds in it which reminded me of the 3-D short name of the famous "Dudley Death Drop" from the wrestling sensation tag team the Dudley Boyz and how they used to signal it to the crowd by holding up three fingers--like Germans do for some reason--and screaming "THREE DEEEEEEEE" and how i think I might like to get people wearing wide-frame glasses with tape on the bridge of the nose to games and screaming "THREE DEEEEEEE," or "HEY DEVIN... GET THE TABLES."
I very purposely wrote that in one sentence so you could know my brain flashed through it all at once. Do you guys think I'm getting enough sleep?

I'm sure that everyone here is already aware, but here's a reminder for all of us to get the word out on this ridiculous deal this week, and invite everyone to join the Jackassery Section. Don't forget to mention that whole "championship professional sports team" thingy. 2-for-1 Dome Opener Tickets

We have a concept getting pinned down and were working on logistics. Jim sounds like he has a projector, Ryan is working on fabric and everything is coming together.
In a week or so I'll start coordinating production sessions. I'm going to look into a space for us to work in.
So while trying to get manufacturer contact information from amazon for some canvas for the tifo, this happened...
Amit:Please let me check this for you. I'm sorry to keep you waiting. I'll just be a moment longer. Thank you for your patience. Amy, I've checked and I'm sorry we have the same information here as we have listed on the website. I would request you to please contact the manufacturer directly for more information about this item. If you wish I can provide your manufacturer contact details. Me:That would be great, thank you. Amit:You're welcome. You can contact the manufacturre on 1-877-342-5299) or 1-310-630-2200. http://www.lagalaxy.com/club/contact Me:That is the LA Galaxy football team, I don't think you have the right information.

Just a suggestion: Contact supporters groups from MLS teams instead of reinventing the wheel and doing tons of research, phone calls etc... I'm sure those guys and gals would be more than willing to give suggestions and contacts to get material for what you are looking for.
Tom Dunmore with Section 8, Timbers Army or Prairie Rose Clayton with the Revolution's supporters.

I've put out the feelers. If it's just line art that shouldn't be a problem. Painting & leaving to dry there might be more of an issue. We couldn't get paint on the carpet & the rooms I'm thinking of do get used on a near daily basis.
I'll let you know what I find out.

I have had an idea that requires a lot of bottle caps of varying colors. Do me a favor and drink extra beer and save the caps for me. Try not to bend them too much.
Currently really in need of blue and yellow.

while looking through my own collection recently, you're best bet for yellows: newcastle, landshark and some smirnoff has a really bright yellow.
blues: bud light, flying dog, sam adams, newcastle summer (baby blue) and the only one i have with navy blue is odells 90 schilling. unfortunately, i have been collecting for a few years now for my own mosaic styled project so i'm not willing to give any up. but i would suggest finding a bar that has a hopper under their mounted bottle opener, not a lot of places still do that, but some of them are willing to let you take whats in there. best of luck to ya.

Obviously I don't know the details of your idea, but the need of a lot of yellow & blue bottle caps gives me a hint. If it's what I've imagined that would be pretty awesome.

I have posted (somewhere on another thread) that he left Syracuse Silver Knights after injuring himself. He wanted to try to heal up for the outdoor season so the team released him. Then on Facebook he implied that he was signing for PRI. However, that has not happened yet.
I guess it would work just fine for current Failhawk Mike Palacio too. Does anyone own any cardboard cutouts of people?
It would be pretty funny to have a poorly painted, oversized, cardboard cut-out of an opposing player we ran along the sidelines yelling for a pass.
EDIT: Ala this,
Wobbling back and forth like a 1st season South Park character. Granted, the only good identifying mark will be the jersey number from our horrible painting skills.

Crist, I looked into printing them and it's pretty expensive if it's one-sheet. However, that doesn't mean I can't use the big cutter at work and break it down into 20-regular sheets.
I wonder if it'd be better to have people holding their own or all using same giant face.

Good to hear you got a place almost lined up. The place I was thinking of would be ~$10/evening or ~$30/day (which really isn't bad for the size of the room) & I know we wouldn't be able to paint on the floor. Sounds like this would work better for us.

I am about to start calling out local DOC's by name. Have you seen the numbers for the "Raise the Roof" deal the Stars have going on. The numbers are pathetic. I think these lousy, over-paid DOCs deserve a kick in the ass! Seriously, them bombard us (and guilt) us into not sending our kids to their camps and they can't do something in-kind by promoting professional soccer in MN.
Yeah, your little EPL league sucks and only wankers play in it!
I've been checking back on the FundRaise the Roof numbers a few times a week too, and I've got to say, I hope that the Stars put a minimum number of tickets sold clause in the contest rules. Some team is gonna collect a nice big payday $8000+ payday for sending about $300 worth of revenue to the Stars.
I understand that the Stars are doing it for publicity and to do service, but this is a little silly. I figured that every club could sell at least 200 tickets, and right now most will be lucky if they break 50.

Is Carl Craig still the DOC at White Bear. I see they have a whopping 17 tickets sold so far. WOW!
Looks like posts were just deleted instead of actually facilitating the discussion I specifically requested.
Basically Soccerboy was s-posting yet again and I promised to leave if something wasn't done by admin.
Deuces, see everyone on twitter/futsal/games.

I'm reluctant to suggest this because I don't have the time to help but after watching that video I was thinking an image of the photo below transfered to a banner could be very inspirational.
Perhaps looking like this but even simpler:

Yeah, I am the new scapegoat for the Dark Clouds now that JW7 left town. All is fair on the boards, but the minute someone wets their pants I get blamed for instigating or whatever. Like I have always said, "It is a one way street with this group."
PS: Not sure what twitter and futsal have to do with home opener tifo... Yeah, I thought so!

I don't see a single twitter or futsal post in this thread, which as actually managed to remain mostly on tifo. Am I missing something?
While I don't have a problem with Soccer Boy's harping on DOCs (it's worth considering if he has a point, don't you think?) I do find it tiresome that it crops up everywhere. That being said, I wouldn't be overly concerned about it in relation to the home opener in a thread that's about the home opener (although about tifo rather than generally or general planning.)
Some people like to stir the [censored]. Some people can't stand it when certain others post because of some preconceived ideas (fair or not) about that person's prior posting history. Some people get ultra defensive immediately and/or have a persecution complex. It's all a bit tiresome and I wish it would stop, but I hardly think things are at a level of contention that warrants the amount of attention it has been getting. Maybe I've missed some of the history as I was out of the loop for much of 2009 and 2010, but really folks, get over it.
There's a block function for a reason. If you have problems with certain posters (myself included) go ahead and use it. And
if you're trolling, grow up.

I like to pretend the donkey is pushing a keg of beer that has the darkclouds logo on top since it was specially brewed by Surly. And the donkey is saying, "Oyeage" as he struggles to push the beer over to the tailgate. thats what I like to pretend about the donkey

So I just ordered my supporter season tickets. But I won't be able to make the game at the Dome. It is my anniversary that weekend and I will be out of town. I thought about taking my wife to the game for our anniversary but that thought lasted for about 2 seconds. So I thought I would donate my ticket to the Dark Clouds and you could have a drawing for it to get a new fan out to the game.

@JamieMCFC, I'm sure we can find someone. Pass them along to someone like me or jimcrist and we'll find a home for them. And thanks!
This reminds me, what is up with the cards with the discount code on them that we (the supporters club) said we were going to make? I could be handing those to the people who ask me about the game and the team.
