According to a story posted today on "BigAppleSoccer", it seems that FC New York will NOT be coming back!

I am going to miss that awful logo. Yet another reason why the USL sucks and is a fourth-rate organization.

What the history of the USL Pro FC New York story ended up as...
.............................................................................................................................
“It was a complete shambles,”

“From day one, they had absolutely no idea what they had gotten themselves into. They had no idea the sacrifice players made to make their way to New York. They simply were not ready to be a professional team.”

“It was all a big joke,” one source told Empire of Soccer.

“After a few weeks, you can tell that they could not live up to the promises they made when they lured some of us into this,” another source said.

What the USL Pro FC New York story started out as...
...........................................................................................................................
http://www.uslsoccer.com/home/317726.html

“We are thrilled to welcome FC New York as the newest addition to the USL First Division,” said USL Executive Vice President and COO Tim Holt. ”Their ownership group’s impressive and ambitious plans to develop a complete soccer club with a strong international partner and privately-financed future stadium will boost the profile of our league in one of the world’s largest and most diverse markets. The conditions are right for FC New York to excite the soccer community, which has a history of support for top-level professional soccer. With the additions of... FC New York in 2010, the USL First Division has added important markets and ownership groups that will strengthen the league for years to come.”
.........................................................................................................................

The History of the USL losing league teams lives on, again and well into the future! A story we are all just a bit too familiar with now. crazy

I just can't wait for the second Tampa (USL Pro team) to start up. whistle

Who could have foreseen this shocking turn of events. They were so close to developing into a complete soccer club with a strong international partner and a privately-financed future stadium. Except for the soccer club, international partner, and future stadium parts.

this now probably paves the way for the USL PDL Cosmos to move into Belson...but then again I haven't heard that project has moved forward yet either.

The Cosmos is even more of a joke. I hear they have the backing of Ken Lay's estate and Denny Hecker. Okay, I am joking, but so is the Cosmos.

I'm not able to confirm it yet, but it is my understanding that the NY Cosmos will NOT have a PDL team this year either!

Everyone who was originally involved in the revived Cosmos is now out. So I guess it is now the shell of a shell.

wow, really can't imagine that the new Saudi group who apparently took over don't have enough money. Then again anything is possible I guess.

In other Red Bulls news, Empire of Soccer reports they have made with Patterson-Sewell, a 24-year-old Aussie-American who had two earlier stints with the club and has excelled for Atletico Clube de Portugal. Kristian Dyer tweeted that they will bring in Arteaga on another trial next week, after the 25-year-old striker scored twice for their reserves last year. Born in Cali, Colombia and raised in Stamford, Connecticut, he played 21 games for now-defunct FC New York last year and scored a USL Pro-leading 13 goals.
