The Telegraph Sport can reveal that Football Supporters Europe (FSE), which has affiliations with fans groups in 38 countries, turned down an invitation to join Fifa’s Independent Governance Committee because of doubts over its credibility.

They were only invited to join the committee last week, suggesting that Fifa is either struggling to fill it with credible figures, or that the decision to try and involve a supporters’ group was taken very late in the process.

Daniela Wurbs, the chief executive of FSE, said they could not accept the invitation because of concerns over Fifa’s credibility.

We do not feel that the structure of what is proposed is truly independent, and we had serious concerns at the lack of information that was provided to us about who else would be involved.
“The timeframe is very short, with just three one-day meetings in the next six months to try and frame reform. We do not feel this is sufficient for Fifa to deal with all the allegations it faces and to look at all the questionable action in the past.

The Press conference did not bring up any interesting news as there has been no new developments about anything juicy in the past that weeks that has not already been reported by the press. This was an everything is normal, what did you expect us to say, event.

-Ex com decided that getting caught taking 100,000 FF in bribes from ISL as a IOC member a long time ago and getting officially reprimanded by the IOC investigation is no big problem among the FIFA family and friends... Sepp told the press that the Ex Com applauded the collective decision to do nothing about that...

A Qatar reporter asked why the head of the Australian FA public remarks about the 2022 bid "not being over just yet" was not better under the FIFA families control... Sepp answered that he had talked to him about his comments.

A reporter asked about FIFA's regrets over the lasts years events. Sepp said they had many regrets about what happened in the past but that those were in the past... He mentioned something about a ship being out in a storm on the high seas and that they now want to bring the ship back to port...??

Another reporter then asked why the past is not being looked into? Sepp said "I said the past is the past and we can't change that, I did not say we would not look into the past".

Step by step by step by step by step by step by step by step by step by step by step by step by step by step by step by step they are waiting for everyone to just fall asleep... All these steps are like climbing from the bottom of the valley floor all the way to the top of a Swiss mountain.

Sunil Gulati was listed as a member of the newly formed Good Governance board. The members were picked by Mark Pieth.

Been waiting for confirmation on this one...

http://www.fifa.com/tournaments/archive/tournament=108/edition=258153/news/newsid=1559251.html

http://www.rferl.org/content/uzbekistan_loses_fifa_tournament_due_to_technical_reasons/24427330.html

"Yes, everybody is talking about this news, but we haven't been officially informed yet," said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity. "We are waiting for an official letter [on December 20] and we're expecting more details about these 'technical issues' as well."

It is highly unusual for FIFA to take a tournament away from a host country, which is awarded the event in a competitive bidding process with several other countries a few years before the tournament.

FIFA's Executive Committee ruled during its meeting in Tokyo on December 16-17 that it had no option but to select another country to host the world championship tournament.

FIFA said in a statement that it expresses "its sincerest thanks to the UFF for their considerable efforts and commitment."

It added that FIFA's Executive Committee has decided to "compensate the UFF [in its loss of the tournament] by organizing another FIFA event, not necessarily a women's competition, whenever it becomes possible in the future or by awarding the UFF new development projects."

http://www.guardian.co.tt/news/2011/12/24/fifa-riding-roughshod-over-cfu-officials-jack

...Jack Warner, says (FIFA) is engaged in a hostile takeover of the Caribbean Football Union (CFU) and it must be stopped.

In a statement yesterday, Warner said he was breaking his silence... (??) on FIFA matters... after an unconstitutional CFU congress was held in Zurich on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. "I am no longer prepared to sit back and watch from the sidelines, while a few men destroy an entire region for their own selfish and self-serving motives.”

He would like to again be involved in "destroying the entire region for their own self-serving motives" he feels left out this time around.

Warner said he would be making further statements next Wednesday and at other unspecified dates. He said his action might cause him to be summoned before the Ethics Committee...

Warner, who is the Minister of Works and Infrastructure in the People’s Partnership Government, resigned from FIFA...

That's kinda odd for him to now be worried?

“At this unconstitutional CFU congress, certain decisions were taken by the FIFA president (who by tittle represents all of FIFA) —decisions which the presidents (who by tittle represent all of their own associations) of 26 of the 30 national associations present accepted without even consulting their members who they purported to represent.”

“The arrogance with which the FIFA continues to ride roughshod over duly elected officials of both the CFU and the Concacaf is not just unethical but plain outright immoral"...

Now that is just plain funny to hear coming from his own mouth...

“This type of behaviour must never be allowed to continue without a voice of dissent being raised against such malfeasance.”

Sepp Blatters is said to have been quoted as saying in response:
Ba, blah blah- blah blah balh. Ba blah balh balh- bla... Jack who? (but it was in French... so I may not have the correct meaning or tone stated during translation into english)

CFU appoint Normalisation Committee

http://www.fifa.com/aboutfifa/organisation/footballgovernance/news/newsid=1561201/

The Normalisation Committee will be made up of nine members... They will act as the CFU Executive Committee until appointing a new one at the union’s ordinary congress in the first half of 2012.

In the meantime they will convene an extraordinary congress to approve new statutes for the CFU in the upcoming 90 days and appoint an interim General Secretary...

http://www.cbc.ca/sports/soccer/story/2011/12/27/sp-soccer-fifa-kickbacks-document.html

A Swiss newspaper reported that a court has rejected an appeal blocking the publication of a document naming football officials who took millions of dollars in kickbacks from World Cup broadcast deals.

The document details a settlement announced in June 2010 whereby senior soccer officials admitted taking kickbacks and repaid $6.1 million. The officials repaid the money on condition that their identities remained anonymous.
.............................................................................................................................

The so called "bid" was a fraud from the start, the members were known to take bribes for making decisions/awards and the FIFA officials new that before the process started.
