Gary is now looking for a new home now that the beer garden is being taken down. If anyone wants to take in Gary before winter, I suggest you go up to the NSC and track him down.
I fully get that there are timelines and deadline set for projects and since it was a temporary structure it may have lived past its sell-by date, but this has me making my "WTF NSC?" face. They couldn't put it off a few more weeks?

A keg of MGD Light would add insult to injury.
I wonder what the construction of this 20,000 s.f. expansion building means for the north gate. I can't help but feel that it is the NSC's goal to make it as hard as possible for fans to get into the stadium. What [would have been] really cool is if the expansion project included a proper box office and gate at the north end. I'm assuming that the "indoor sports and exhibit hall facility" includes no such amenities.
Moving the beer garden west could be considered a positive given the difficulty in traversing between the current locale and the west side stands.
It does strike me as a bit odd that they are expanding the Schwan's Center into the stadium ground. Is NSC a stadium or an exhibition hall? Should we start calling it the National Schwan Center? Is Nessie being replaced by a swan? Should the Dark Clouds be renamed the Exhibitionists?

The timing is unfortunate.
I think it is pretty clear that the NSC and the Stars are completely different entities at this point. Thanks go out to the NSC for saving pro soccer in Minnesota.
I hope the new building allows for seating, watching, viewing of the field and is not closed off like the current events center on the far North Side of the stadium. Like AJ said, it would be awesome if a true box off is set up in the front.
Finally, I see this as the fault of Dean Johnson. If he hadn't of made all of the promises this would never of have had to happen. A shame, but maybe it will be awesome?!

"It’s our goal to provide a quality replacement beer garden area following the process of the new construction... we will build over the winter and hope to have a replacement in time for next season."
If there's a new garden, then that's good enough for me.
Well, at least we'll always have Dean Johnson to blame.
Also, they want to put the beer garden in the NW corner? I hope that doesn't mean that the behind the goal, close proximity to the pitch locations will be gone. What would the point of standing in the beer garden if you're stuffed in a corner?

If I can't throw up on the pitch there is literally 0 reason.

if the beer garden is stuffed in the corner, I highly recommend a stream-lined beer line where fans can walk through without stopping, basically, so they can get back to watching the game.
Come to think about it, that's a good idea wherever the beer garden is built.

Was the old one not stuffed in the corner?
That deck was my favorite sports spectating experience anywhere. I'm sad to see it gone, but I believe Djorn when he says he'll get a suitable replacement happening shortly. That's where he watched the games from too, so he knows what's up.
Mean time, I can be a jerk anywhere in that stadium. We just need to queue up beers a little deeper if the walk's going to be longer.

I think seamonster is right!
My favorite beer garden photo is the one where Amy is knocking the kid off the wall... Wait, that's my second favorite. My true favorite is the one with thesuperrookie and Dale Weiler.

Don't ever mention those words again. We might have to hear about how our ideas for a manual scoreboard are a pipedream and the NSC would never help us make a scoreboard like that.

The Clouds over NSC (To the Tune of What's Left of the Flag, by Flogging Molly)
The garden closed And the last keg choked It had poured all it could pour. The stands once full On the northern end Were sent to an early grave
Walk to east me boys Walk to east me boys To the stands on grasses green Wipe that golden tear From our Gary dear And call the clouds Over N S C
Then plastic cups Well we’ll fill them up Drink ‘em all till we hit the floor Under clouds so black We’ll keep on attack For the garden we’re born to mourn
Walk to east me boys Walk to east me boys To the stands on grasses green Wipe that golden tear From our Gary dear And call the clouds Over N S C

The jackassery that has been split from the original 'behind the bench' location will now be focused in ONE location for this most important game of the 'new' NASL ... and I, for one, am NOT going to let these ChickenHawks away from the NSC without enduring two hours of our wrath.

While I didn't like the lack of information the NSC gave the Stars at the time, it is their property and if you recall, it had to do with prepping the ground before the frost set in for building on it during the winter. Of course that meant they needed to deal with it in October, not January. Perhaps I'm naive in the building construction trades, but it seemed to make sense.
With that said, I am concerned with a timeline on the new reconstructed beer garden by the first NSC stadium opener.

Aaron- I have never had a problem with you in person. But, your internet skills are a tad childish, annoying and over-reacting. There are no double standards on here. You think people hate you because you choose to vote Republican. Most people could care less. You seem to have an inability to take a joke. The only other person that has lacked that decency on this board is Bernie Slaven.
I don't get it. Nice guy in person. A jerk online.

Tim, you are selective in how you read things. I find it interestig that you come of high and mighty and then resort to things you can't stand. Its like the pot calling the kettle black, eh?
