I remember swimming that UK afternoon, and the pool emptied as someone announced that a plane had hit a tower in New York. Everyone dried off, dressed and gathered around the lone tv screen to witness the 2nd plane hit, then followed a day of images that seemed to be right out of Die hard film. I honestly expected to see Bruce Willis walk out of the rubble in his trademark vest.

I will not watch any of the anniversary programming, I saw the images that horrific day, images that will never leave my mind, images that do not spend a single day letting me be grateful for the first responders, people who rushed into buildings that a sane person would be desperate to run away from with every ounce of energy they possessed.

Thank you to those brave people who risk their lives to save others, they are truly the people who we should all aspire to be, not the crassly overpaid athletes or film stars that fill our tv screens now.

I've been watching TV off and on all weekend, shedding a fair amount of tears. One of my co-workers died in the Pentagon....James T. Lynch. May you rest in peace. More importantly, may your family find peace.

I was at the Ramsey County Attorneys Office-Child Support Enforcement. I got a great lead on a dead-beat I had been trying to get served for civil contempt. The night before, I got a great lead from my PI. I drafted my Order to Show Cause. In the AM, I was trying to track down a judge to get it signed. All of the judges in Ramsey County left and went home. I was pissed that I could not get my Order signed.

I was saddened to learn that Barbara Olson (wife of then Solicitor General Ted Olson) was on the plane that struck the Pentagon. I had been at their house several months before 9/11 at a party.

Sunday September 11th 2011 should have been the 10th birthday of Christina-Taylor Green, the little girl who was one of the victims of the Tuscon shootings.

Sad proof that not all terrorists are foreign or Muslim.

indeed Doctor Scrumpy, extremes exist on all sides and it usually is never good.

Extremism can obviously be dangerous, but I categorically reject the notion of nationalism as a hole being a 'disease...anti-thought...a plague...flag wavers being a-holes'.

There are a few things worth fighting for. America is one of them. If this writer thinks the country is so evil, he is free to leave and pick a better eutopia of Cuba or North Korea.

Not exactly why he feels that those who jumped to their death a 'mass suicide' or how it was expunged from the media. Those folks faced 1500-2000 degree heat, jumping gave them almost no chance but the fact that they made makeshift parachutes of clothes goes to show me it wasn't a mass suicide. Staying in an inferno gave them ZERO chance. How was it expunged from tv? We all saw jumpers. Over and over. Did this nucklehead want the hamburger of human bodies on the streets on tv? Would this have satisfied him. Nearly every American (even our young ones) watched the tv for nearly 48 straight hours.

I really can only wonder what I would have done in those same awful circumstances...
