Sepp Blatter told The Associated Press he will announce his reform agenda after an Oct. 20-21 meeting in Zurich with his executive committee colleagues.

"It was a very difficult year," Blatter acknowledged, seeming relaxed and assured on a sunny day in his family's ancestral Alpine village, where the charity event was decorated with discreet "Bravo Sepp" banners.
"Now I am working on different items and I will present to the executive committee of FIFA during the meeting,"
..............................................................................................................................
"I'm relaxed because the congress of FIFA has proven the unity of the football family. This same congress has given me the mandate for what I have to do," Blatter said. "I believe in what I am doing, I believe in football and, finally, I am a very faithful man and I believe in God."

On Monday, August 29, FIFA President Sepp Blatter accused England of seeking to destroy soccer's governing body as an act of revenge. He believes that the English FA is attempting to cause problems for FIFA because England failed to win the rights to host the 2018 World Cup and because they are still bitter about losing the FIFA presidency in 1974 to Brazil's Joao Havelange.

The real problem here is that the English press has been all over corruption within FIFA for almost a year. The 2018/2022 World Cup selection process was marred by a Sunday Times report that exposed two members of FIFA's executive committee who attempted to sell their votes. The press continued to dig into FIFA's executive committee and found other indiscretions just before the World Cup vote was held.

...the FA has become such a thorn in Blatter's side that he's willing to say anything to cast a shadow over the English.

Why else would he make such ridiculous claims?
..............................................................................................................................
Because he was in the Brazil -environment- with Teixeira at the opening of the 2011 Beach soccer World Cup in Italy ...

When asked about the corruption allegations currently engulfing his organisation in an interview with Brazilian newspaper Estado do Sao Paulo, Blatter responded:...

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/950674/fifa-boss-sepp-blatter-launches-attack-on-'bad-losers'-england?cc=5901

..........................................................................................................................
Blatter maintained that England were seeking to get one back on FIFA for losing the presidency race back in 1974 and his comments followed a wide-ranging attack on the country from long-serving Brazilian football president Ricardo Teixeira.

Yep, he is Teixerira's friend wink... lol... Oh, this is getting good!

The president of the Brazilian Football Federation (CBF), Ricardo Teixeira, has launched an incredible attack on the English FA and the BBC

Teixeira has been tipped to succeed FIFA President Sepp Blatter, but used a magazine interview in his homeland to reveal his anger at Lord Triesman's allegations that he had asked for bribes during the World Cup 2014 bidding process.
..............................................................................................................................
-That's funny I thought it was Platini that was going to be the shoe in for the top FIFA spot in four years...?
..............................................................................................................................

Teixeira is also reported to have told the magazine that he was "going to make their lives hell" when referring to the English media and the Football Association.

He said: "In 2014, I'll be able to get away with anything. The most slippery, unthinkable, Machiavellian things. Denying press credentials, barring access, changing game schedules. And you know what? Nothing'll happen. You know why? Because in 2015 I'm out of here. Then it'll all be over."
..............................................................................................................................

This is all very confusing... I think I'm going to have to go back and re-read the book I read in collage about leadership and making realistic choices depending on the -environment- you are actually in:

Machiavelli's, The Prince

"Men have imagined republics and principalities that never really existed at all. Yet the way men live is so far removed from the way they ought to live that anyone who abandons what is, for what should be, pursues his downfall rather than his preservation; for a man who strives after goodness in all his acts is sure to come to ruin, since there are so many men who are not good".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Prince

Although the work advises princes how to tyrannize, Machiavelli is generally thought to have preferred some form of free republic. Some commentators justify his acceptance of immoral and criminal actions by leaders by arguing that he lived during a time of continuous political conflict and instability in Italy, and that his influence has increased the "pleasures, equality and freedom" of many people...

Machiavelli emphasized the need for realism, as opposed to idealism.

Managing major reforms can show off a Prince's virtue and give him glory. He clearly felt Italy needed major reform in his time, and this opinion of his time is widely shared.

-Keep your friends close and your enemies even closer...

DUBAI // Yousuf Al Serkal, the former chairman of the Football Association, has confirmed he intends to run for presidency of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to replace the suspended Mohamed bin Hammam.

Asian football has been tarnished by the charges against bin Hammam and Al Serkal said the game must do more to stamp out corruption.

"We have to be frank, corruption, it's among players, it's among referees, it's among also officials," he said in the television interview.

"So we need to take a stand against this, we have really to work hard and work harshly against those who are corrupt. We don't need them in our world of football."

Al Serkal of United Arab Emirates told Gulf News. Al-Serkal told SNTV that “now is the opportunity” for Bin Hammam to be shown the door. Despite similar calls from Jordan's new FIFA vice president Prince Ali Al Hussein to move on, the AFC executive committee decided late last month not to pursue an immediate leadership change.

Asian Football Confederation vice president Yousuf al-Serkal says he’s the man to replace current AFC chief Mohamed Bin Hammam when the executive committee is allowed, under its statutes, to remove him next May.

Fifa terminated a multimillion-pound 2014 World Cup TV deal with the CFU after discovering the rights had been sub-licensed to a company owned by Warner. The CFU was told in a letter from Fifa it had not approved the sub-licensing deal with Warner's company JD International...

"Such ignoble pursuit has nothing to do with the cleansing of corruption within Fifa but rather to offer the perception of an aura of cleansing within Fifa. In their pursuit they have devastated the lives of many persons, destroyed many golden friendships which were forged over the years and sadly affected generations of footballers to come within the region of the Caribbean.

"All this has been perpetuated by the men of Fifa's gentry who were once viewed as friends of the CFU. This is done in the name of seeking to cleanse Fifa of all corruption." - Jack Warner

Had former FIFA presidential candidate and Vice-President Mohamed Bin Hammam been European, FIFA would not have dared to ban him from FIFA.
This is one of the allegations Bin Hammam has sent in an open letter to the Deputy Chairman of the Ethics Committee in FIFA, Petrus Damaseb.

The letter also alleges that Damaseb has acted like a puppet of FIFA president Sepp Blatter and FIFA General Secretary Jerome Valcke. At the same time the Qatari indirectly accuses Blatter and Valcke of corruption:

“Nobody in this world will believe that Valcke and Blatter are qualified to fight any sort of corruption. If they are serious about fighting corruption, they should have the courage to volunteer themselves as first subjects of such investigations on the allegations raised against them since years until today,” Bin Hammam writes.

“The web of corrupt favours that has kept the leaders of FIFA together through generations is now falling apart and all the dirt comes out. Only an independent investigation can help FIFA and the rest of us to uncover what is the truth and what are smear campaigns,” Sejer Andersen concludes in the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten.
