Do you honestly think they will do anything at FIFA ? Whether they should or not is another matter, but can't see them raking over the coals for this one.

Article 16 of the Disciplinary Code was sited by the Ethics committee.

"The person required to return an award shall return the benefits received..."

Then Sepp implemented the Zero Tolerance policy in regards to ethics issues and the congress approved it.

It's all there, wait and see. Again, read the first sentence of this thread.
One thing is still missing. But wait and see how this all develops with time. wink

*remember these are all translated documents originally written in French.

"The executive committee has taken note of the will of Fifa to take concrete and effective measures for good governance.

"It hopes to see results within three months and it is following the situation closely.

"We want whatever it is Fifa chooses to do to be concrete." Said UEFA general secretary Gianni Infantino at the conclusion of FIFA's June executive committee meeting.

Jack Warner quit as a FIFA vice president on Monday.

"As a consequence of Mr. Warner's self-determined resignation, all ethics committee procedures against him have been closed and the presumption of innocence is maintained,'' FIFA said in a statement.

Bin Hammam did not attend in Miami, claiming he had visa problems to enter the United States even though he holds a diplomatic passport.

The Asian Football Confederation president is now set to face a full ethics inquiry, expected next month, without his fellow confederation boss. FIFA is also investigating two CFU employees.

Jack Warner:
“England has never stopped complaining, nor has the U.S. ever stopped conspiring. England and the U.S. have never stopped because they believe they have some kind of divine right to host a World Cup. In this case they refused to look to see what the problem is. How can you be England and not have single European person voting for you? That’s a question they need to be asking themselves. And the U.S. believed because it’s the U.S. they also have an automatic right. They don’t. Nobody has a God-given right to host the World cup.”

Former FA chairman Lord Triesman branded Fifa’s decision to drop its probe “astonishing”. He said:

“That is an astonishing state of affairs. It is right to presume innocence until after a hearing has taken place but this just shows Fifa is simply not willing to clean up its act.”

Tory MP Damian Collins said Fifa’s decision to take no further action over the bribery claims shows it can’t be trusted. He added: “The investigation has been a complete farce.”

Police Commissioner Dwayne Gibbs is still awaiting a response from FIFA on his request for information on the alleged bribery allegations regarding Jack Warner.
A release from the Police Public Affairs Unit yesterday stated that Gibbs has been flooded with calls from the media asking whether the resignation of FIFA vice-president Jack Warner from world football's governing body would affect the request to FIFA. The release said the police "will await a response from FIFA to the request before issuing a statement regarding new developments".

While Australia bid for the 2022 World Cup... Bidders spent lavishly on Warner, said Bonita Mersiades, a former head of corporate and public affairs for the Australian soccer federation.

Mersiades said that the Australian bid team spent $2,500 in 2009 on a single-drop pearl necklace for Warner’s wife, Maureen, that appeared to be above the allowance permitted by FIFA. Bidders also spent $250,000 to $300,000 to pay for an under-20 youth national soccer team from Trinidad and Tobago to play a 2009 tournament in Cyprus, Mersiades said.

“FIFA must continue to investigate allegations against Warner,” said Oliver Fowler, a co-founder of ChangeFIFA, a reform group. “To stop only raises more awkward questions and doubts.”

In 2009, Warner returned a $400 handbag given to his wife by England’s 2018 World Cup bid team, saying that news media comments about the gift had “resulted in the tainting of her character and mine.”

Warner derived power from keeping tight control on the 35 votes allocated to FIFA members in the North and Central American, and Caribbean confederation, whose influence off the field seemed to outweigh performances on it.

His insistence that CONCACAF united as a bloc - holding more than 15 percent of FIFA's electoral strength - ensured respect from Sepp Blatter, who has often talked during his 13-year FIFA presidency of their close working relationship.

On Monday, Warner's farewell statement to international media was followed within an hour by a supplementary comment seeking to designate a loyal aide, Lisle Austin of Barbados, as his successor leading CONCACAF.

Step by step, FIFA is losing all credibility as the governing body of world soccer.
But not yet, not overnight. And there is soccer’s dilemma. Warner has fallen, Bin Hammam is being pursued, Blatter is running out of close allies.
If corruption was not beaten while the executive appeared united, what is to stop it from festering now that FIFA is so broken that it is falling apart?
...........................................................................................................................

A really, really big concrete step/message sent of taking away the 2022 winning bid award because it was taken away from everyone else through bribery which started this whole power grab episode by Bin Hammam.

The 2018 award may also fall all on its own, depending on how much better Putin was at concealing his own gift giving. But, that may never happen because after all the Russian's are not as stupid as Bin Hamman was, now are they...?

*Any award received through bribery must be returned, Article 16 of the discipline code. Zero tolerance has been approved by the congress!
