Ya, Marco the Olympic Stadium seems to have become somewhat of a unescapable albatross, or the Death Star (that Montreal teams can't escape) but for the limited number of games there, I could honestly see them getting 25 to 30K. I am wondering if they will have select games (vs. Toronto, LA, Int'l teams, etc.) play there even after Saputo renovations are complete.

EXPANSION OF SAPUTO STADIUM TO BEGIN IN SEPTEMBER

MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact announced Sunday that the expansion of Saputo Stadium will begin in September.

Following unsatisfying results regarding proposal bids, and in order to respect the 23M $ of public money, the organization will proceed in August to a second invitation to receive bids with modified technical specifications concerning the infrastructure.

Apparently Joey's beat um down negotiation style did not go over well with the contractors in Montreal and they just left him all alone sitting on his fence of lower pricing. Not the first time this has happened in Montreal. Joey could have entered MLS around the same time as Toronto when it was just $10,000,000 to get in, instead of the requested $40,000,000 to get in during 2009-10.

Maybe they should wait another year and stay in the second division until the stadium, team's play, coaching staff, and the front office are actually ready for the demands of division one soccer in America?

Just sayin... whistle

Montreal played like a good JV high school soccer team last night against the Stars. Yeah, I am happy that the Stars won. However, I was embarrassed for the Impact. What a bunch of clowns. The goal is to improve play in the MLS, not dumb it down.

The team will select players from another MLS expansion draft and then look for more top players with the larger budget a MLS team has.

I just finished making some meat sauce for my spaghetti and I always use my own fresh roma tomatoes for that. I always use fresh parmesan cheese to go with it. I bought a new type at the Cub market yesterday and cut open the package and tasted it to compare it with what they use in europe. It is very good Stella from Saputo. Funny how things happen some times.

It is just too bad they are not playing good soccer their last year in D2. As things look, they are competing with the Atlanta Silverbacks for the bottom spot on the table.

It is so cool that Daughter #1 is taking French in school. She can help translate all that giberish the Impact have on their WWW site and Facebook posts.

The Impact will face Chicago, Toronto, Los Angeles,
New York and Portland at Olympic Stadium

MONTREAL – The Montreal Impact unveiled Thursday its schedule for the team’s inaugural season in Major League Soccer (MLS). The team will play a total of 34 games, 17 at home and 17 on the road; all of which will be televised (TSN, RDS, TVA Sports). Within each conference, each club will play the same number of in-conference and out-of-conference games.

Plotting Impact games to watch in 2012

Frédérick Jean-François,
January 5, 2011

For the Montreal Impact, the release of the MLS schedule answered some questions on the number of games played at the Olympic Stadium and also the opponents from the Western Conference who will come to La Belle Province in 2012. Here's a quick look at the Impact's schedule for 2012.

The only match at the Olympic Stadium that could have trouble selling will be the match against Portland Timbers. After all, the last two matches in the MLS regular season the Impact will play at the Olympic Stadium are against star driven clubs in the Galaxy and the Red Bulls on the 12th and 19th of May
