COSMOS ON THE FIELD
U-23 team kicks off PDL slate Wednesday

The New York Cosmos U-23 will begin their Premier Development League exhibition schedule on Wednesday June 8th, at Farrell High School in Staten Island, their home for the 2011 season, against Ocean City FC.

The team will play an eleven game season and will be coached by Cosmos Academy East Director, Giovanni Savarese.

With some of the big guns the Cosmos are bringing into the origanization, certainly wouldn't be surprised to see them be team #20. It would make an interesting I-95 derby with 2 NY teams, Philly and DC (or poss Balto if the stadium thing doesn't work out soon). Too bad I will be Ocean City later in July (vacation), it would be fun to see the U23 Cosmos/Barons matchup.

I'm pretty sure that Ocean City NJ is actually a dry town...so best do come prepared...

When my cell goes dead I tell people I got an OC phone (ie 'no bars'). Ya, OC has been a family vacation spot for years, really enjoy it over there. Even better when there is futty match midweek. Nothing better than futbol with the ocean breeze,smell of kettle corn and carnival music in the background from the boardwalk. It makes for an interesting mix: no wonder OC is so successful at home.
