Portland could have taken Maryland for sure, and given Charlotte and Harrisburg a run for their money.

the only difference in MOST of the playing squads from USSF-D2 and USL 2 last year was bench strength. the starting XI's could go toe to toe.. and did. From what I've seen in the 4 USL Pro games this year thats changed this season, especially in Richmond, all 5 teams I've seen are stronger off the bench then anything we saw last year.

There is actually some good soccer coming out of Jamaica and the Digicel Premier League. I watched a number of matches on TV this past winter when I was down on the island. I can also say that there is strong interest in the sport as every town I went to have a number of soccer pitches.

However, there really are not a lot of people running around on Jamaica with disposable incomes to support soccer. I am not sure about the other islands, but I would imagine it is really more of the same. I doubt the Antigua and Barbuda club will be around next year. However, that is really all the USL cares about versus having financially stable franchises.

I'm going to say that's a really, really good "hunch".

So nice to see that someone spent time in College Park learning something other than how to riot after athletic events.
