Wow, I hate I missed this thread. Hudson is a great guy and has a good coaching mind. I'm a little biased as he coached my son's club team. The team had a horrid season under him but that was his lack of experience coaching kids and not men. I know several players that were under him as an Asst. coach For the Hammerheads and most gave great recomendations. The next year with a new coach that had more experience coaching kids coached the team to a double overtime loss for a bid to go to the state cup quarterfinal game. I could easily say he's a bad coach but it was not his coaching knowledge but more his inability to motivate an under performing kids club team. I understand why this happened when you are used to motivating professional motivated players and you don't have to worry about offending their

parents. He was also too busy with the Hammerheads to devote his time to the club team. I called it in the beginning of the season as any Full Time employee of a USL 2 team is basically modern day slave labor.
Hudson spoke with me about his Dad and growing up in that atmoshere. Soccer (footie) is kind of big sport in England and a great athlete like Hudson's dad will be revered by Chelsea fans and not so much by fans of the other clubs. Chelsea fans say he made great contributions to the club and the national team. Fans from other clubs will say he didn't live up to his potential and should have helped make the national even better than it was. When you are gifted at something and you reach the highest levels of it, there are pressures that most of us will never get to experience because so few get to that pinnacle in our lives. I think he has lived, read, watched, heard every positive and negative story in the media and has made peace with it. I think RM fans might take offense too easily of DS's comments in this thread. Knowing that he is not a Chelsea fan and is an Englishman, growing up in the media surrounding the time this all happened, I think his comments have been restrained for where his point of view is coming from.
That was a scary place inside DS's mind. I think I need to go take a shower now. In all seriousness congratulations to RM and their first year coach on a great turnaround season.

Good luck to them in the future except when playing the Hammerheads.
