I can only guess that it is for the huge number of people from south London that have settled in the greater Baltimore area. There has to be at least 20.

Bernie, I am hoping that they will get better. The numbers were better last year than they are this year.

Maybe the Baltimore Sun actuallly writing about the team will help a little. Maybe the warmer weather and kids being out of school.

Hopes and prayers. At this point, pretty much is all that I am running on when it comes to the Palace home attendance numbers.

As far as the name goes, you gotta ask the Medds and Cherneski about that one. They had the CP contacts.

I wouldn't call it a "faux" connection. The first season two or three players came over from London (they didn't do jackola on the field in my opinion but they were there). Of course there have been the exhibition matches played over here and one over there. When I looked a couple years ago on the CB website, they had some CPB news. I have been introduced some reps from London when they have come to visit.

I think that naming the team after a bird (Orioles, Ravens, Blackbirds) or even a type of sailing shp (Clippers, Skipjacks) or even the "Bays" again would have been a better idea but no one who investyed any capital bothered to ask me...

That's the best that I can tell ya, Bro.

Okay, you can have a relationship with a club overseas, but does that mean you have to take their name? You end up looking like the tagalong little brother. Plus, as mentioned above, it's unlikely to resonate with the locals, and, oh, by the way, it's Crystal Freaking Palace. They're rubbish.

The Sun would have to write a lot to get people to go. And people would probably have to go to get The Sun to write a lot.

I just think CPB is out of their league, in more ways than one.

Where the heck have you been? I was just asking myself--"What's up with Doc?" last week.

No. The Bullets name we will leave to the past with the nostalgia of another sport.
(No disrespect to NSC Minnesota).

We can chance the name to the "Shooters" (coz of the crime and the fact that we are one of the only place in North America where heroin is still big).

[nobody get all touchy--just joking people]

To me, it's not the team name that matters, it's the talent on the field. And Crystal Palace Baltimore is the younger club of the Crystal Palace in the EPL. So the name does have meaning(fyi).

The hell they are. They took the name and have some sort of quasi-relationship. But they're not a part of the EPL organization.

Did you read the rest of this discussion?

The "real" Crystal Palace is crap (fyi). If you're going to take an EPL team's name (which is another discussion altogether), Crystal Palace? Really?

Did I miss something? Didn't Crystal Palace avoid being relegated from the Championship on the final day? Is the Championship the same as the EPL now?
