Code:
Richmond   1-1--2
Harrisburg 0-0--0

Richmond- Ronnie Pascale; William Yomby; Sascha Gorres; Dave Hertel; Henry Kalungi; Luke Vercollone;
Bobby Foglesong (Jeremy Barlow 87'); Gerson Dos Santos; Mike Burke; Edson Elcock (Stephen Nserko 71');
Matt Delicate

Goals- Elcock 11', Dos Santos (Delicate) 50'

Bookings- None

Harrisburg- Danny Ceparo; Geoff Bloes; Tyler Ruthven; Jeritt Thayer; Anthony Calvano; Jason Pelletier;
J.T. Noone (Mpho Moloi 76');
Kai Kasiguran (Domonic Oppong 46'); David Scofield (Vince Petrasso 46'); Jason Hotchkin (Ryan Zabinski 83');
Sheanon Williams (Nate Jafta 76')

Goals- None

Booking- Calvano 90'

MoM- Luke Vercollone

Referee- Jim Sadowski (1 seeing eye dog of 5) (He let both teams play, the game had a nice flow)

Thoughts- Wow.. we scored early and could have scored often, Harrisburg cleared 2 balls off the line and
we blew a couple of other clear cut chances.
What's happened to Harrisburg? They used to be good and with Ceparo, they should be alot better then they are.
4 Points will clinch a home playoff game on the 21st.
COME ON YOU REDS!
Also, why aren't we using our bench? I don't think we've used all 5 subs but maybe once all season. Hmmm

I think tonight the soccer gods and the cross bar were just against them for some reason. At times I thought they were the better team

At times they were the better team, I think, because we lost our focus,but we got it back in time.

we were very lucky to get out of the first half with a 1-0 lead.. and Ronnie owes the goal post a steak dinner after Kasiguran shot! The 2nd half we owned them all over the pitch. Was good to see.
No idea about Johnny V although he did seem to tweek someting last week. That mgiht have something to do with it. Also Harrisburg left a couple of thei best players at home. Dustin Bixler and Brian Ombiji.. wonder whats up with that

And Sadowski gets 1 out of 5... As many as that ??

We love him down at Hellwig, he even stalks us as far as West Virginia.

True. I have a feeling Leigh had one of his talks with the team during half time. I thought that we spent a bit more time in their end than I would have preferred BUT at the same time we never really gave them a good look at the goal except maybe one or two times.

One of the real problems with the Va. game is you get Moo & Kai a lot less than many other refs.

Did any of y'all see the replay of DoSantos goal? I watched it a couple of times and I swear Double E looks like a kid getting caught with his hands in the cookie jar.....
That ball would have gone high if it had not deflected off EE's shoulder or upper arm! wink
Paper said it came off a defender. Watch EE and see if you believe that.
Unintentional, I guess....

According to today's RTD:

Three players regarded as questionable earlier in the week -- forward Edson Elcock and midfielders Jonathan Villanueva and Evan Harding -- practiced without incident yesterday and should be ready to play in tomorrow's key USL-2 road match at Harrisburg.

Villanueva and Harding are dealing with hamstring issues; Elcock with a groin problem. Kickers coach Leigh Cowlishaw said the three emerged from yesterday's training session "with flying colors . . . no problems at all. Assuming there are no reactions [today], all three should be available" against Harrisburg

and also of interest:
Cowlishaw has tweaked his master roster with the upcoming USL-2 playoffs in mind. Veteran forward Chris Carrieri has been added and could play as early as next weekend. In addition, Cowlishaw said, forward Joseph Kabwe and midfielder Ty Shipalane have been added as possible on-loan players from the Carolina Rail Hawks.
