I had read rumblings about this before and just found this website regarding a possible new USSF 2nd Division franchise - the 'Phoenix Monsoon";

http://phoenixmonsoon.info/Home.html

Going through it, there appears they have gathered interest in the region for a few other possible clubs, so it should be interesting to see if this comes together in the near future?!

"Phoenix (desert) Monsoons" wow that is a really COOL name for a team in the nice summer weather area of Arizona.

Oh it's about the use of the english language again, I get it.
Right, then the two words all by themselves are complete sentences needing periods?

Lets hope the team playing in that Arizona summer heat is also more like an annual event.

Seasons

Plural

No, it's about getting the name of the freaking team right. Like if you'd said "Utah Jazzes."

If you need more to be able to understand it, I'm glad to oblige: The name of the team is Monsoon, the singular form, not Monsoons, which would be the plural form.

Make sense now?

A new team in Phoeniz? Must be part of the future USLD2 expansion. To me, it's up to the owner what they want the name to be(although fan voting is nice). Name's are so far fetched now you need a dictionery to find their meaning. What counts is the team on the field(imo).
My sister lives out there, I hope that would be a good rivalry for the Riverhounds(if true)!

Singular vs. plural. "Come on you Mosoon," just does not sound right. It has to end with a "s." Hmmm...

How long have you been in America? We've had singular team names in multiple sports going back to 1974, at least.

Would you go to an NBA game in Oklahoma City and cheer "Come on you Thunders?"
